Just opened my new copy today and played a game, one problem i had was the orange cubes are barely painted and look awfully close to yellow. It's not a huge deal, but annoying nonetheless. Anyone else have this problem? Any recommendation for a particular paint i could use to repaint them that will look good enough to make them not stick out like a sore thumb?

thanks for your help,
Chad

Yes, I really am that awesome.

Yeah, my cube colors don't exactly match my tile colors or printed colors either. But they're still close enough to not be much trouble.

Personally, I think that the cubes slip around too much anyway. If I ever get enough energy put together, I'll drill a bunch of holes in small slabs of wood and make four cribbage-style Ingenious score trackers. Probably I'll paint the wood in the six colors, and just use regular silver pegs.

this may be something with the manufacturer as well on a larger scale. In Settlers Of Catan, the 4 color wood bits come in red, white, blue, and orange. My friend got a "special edition" copy of Settlers Of Catan that contains yellow bits instead of orange. In fact, my copy of Cities & Knights Of Catan came in yellow but no orange!

Well whats most annoying is that you use both yellow and orange in this game vs. others where you can get away with a orange that looks yellow since there may not be a yellow. Oh well.

Really? I figured as long as nothing jars the score sheet (e.g. cat jumps up on it or wobbling table), then the color won't matter. In other words, you can just look across to see which what score it is for each row since each road has a color label.

Although true, it's still a lot quicker to glance over, see the color cubes and move on, especially with a four player game.
