With the "16XX" in the title are we looking at the start of a new series?
That was something the publisher put into the title, to give it a little more seriousness and to attract the 18xx crowd (since the 2-D stock market is very similar to an 18xx game without the main board). The year was the year that this happened.
I have had ideas of creating a pickup-and-delivery board as an add-on to the game, so that instead of just getting a tulip of your choice from the market and using the buyer cards, you have to establish purchasing and supply routes to make colors available to you.
But my experience as an author has not been enjoyable, and I've been quite burned out of the hobby board game design business. I'm moving my design focus over to my research lab to make games appropriate for library settings.
