Gild (or chrone) the lilly:whistle: Sounds good to me.
Perhaps get 4 extra color Blocks & another label sheet & put
the 4 Auxilia on them & have them enter the Game from the West
on the Road to Eusebia.
Perhaps you meant the enter from the East on the road to Eusebia.
Yes up to 4 extra blocks would be needed as the average legion size was 5,000 men or less.
1) 3 step 3C Pharnaces block (enters full strength 48 BC)
2) 4 step 2C Pharnaces block (enters as recruits by build 48 BC)
3) 5 step 1C Pharnaces block (V IV III II)(enters full Strength 47 BC)
4 3 step 1B Pharnaces block (enters as recruits by build 47 BC)
Or some combination of blocks above. Blocks Enter East roads to Eusebia or Sinope turn two 48 BC and turn three 47 BC.
An initiative roll is made for who controls the Pharnaces forces, after each card of a turn are resolved by both players. Controller of forces may make one move plus optionally one build (after Caesar and Pompey have done actions on cards they played). This way no long term or short term plans can be made with the Pharnaces forces. Pharnaces would be able to operate on all Roads in Pontus & Cappadocia.
I'm thinking an Event that would require the nearest Legion to
the Zela Battle site to turned face down & a Move deducted
from the card for that turn to represent this.
Possibly any units moving on Roads in Pontus & Cappadocia are 1/2 in 47 BC. This rule would be the easiest to implement or add, and effects both players equally.
