For her recent induction as a Noble Knight of the Second Age of FTL! for her positive contributions to the FTL threads and for the hoopiest Avatar in the multiverse.

*bows* Thank you!

T.R. - way to go! Congrats!

Here ya go!

Poll
If new users (noble knights) of FTL 2 wanted their own badge to buy, which would be the best option?
None, FTL2 shouldn't get one.

I know some will think it's unnecessary, but I think it's fun.

Can a turtle-hobbit curtsy?

Congrats!

I can, but that looks clumsy

Ryan, voted for badge 1 (with golden "2").

Here's the question: if someone was the knight in FTL 1, can he be dubbed for FTL 2? Or is kinda automatic? And do you suggest new nominees for public approval or can you just dub them (yourself being a knight)?

How it's been done, as soon as someone notices the requirements have been met someone congratulates them of it in the main thread, then the knights race to make a new entry on the list.

frumpish wrote:

Ooh.. that's a good question. I propose two suggestions. (and the third put out there by Frumpish)

1. Each Age has its own requirements and it's own badge (my favorite)

2. Knights of older ages are automatically grand fathered into the new ages regardless of new requirement.

3. Knights of New Ages are automatically considered knights of the older ages regardless of previous requirements (my leas favorite because thumbing the whole thing is a lot more of a challenge than just the current age)

Currently, I am operating under the first option. New age, new badge, new rules just because it seemed fair to the new comers. But I would totally submit to the will of the community as a whole if everyone feels differently.

Peace!

Well, with each age being relatively short, I think that would make it too... Easy? To keep up. For instance, I've currently thumbed every non-FTL-1 post in this forum. That's not a huge commitment, because it's only a few days old (also, I'm not in any way suggesting I should be nominated, and not just because I don't have my golden meeple yet). So it seems like the thread should have some length to it before people can become knights of it. But if you wait 100 pages, that's 10% of its lifespan...

That makes it sound overly officious, but my perception of the NKs is that it's lighthearted but also recognizes some serious effort. Existing knights should be grandfathered in but that's all I've got on the matter.

I've stated this before, but the thousand pages are going to come and go very quickly, which means that there would be a lot of noble knight micrboadges. I can tell you right now, they are NOT going to be approved.

The admins did not even allow for a Feel the Love Christmas card exchange microbadge because they felt there were too many feel the love microbadges being put out.

If people are concerned about requirements, the old thread is still there an fully thumbable.

I just want to say, God, on behalf of all of us thank you for all of the good things we do in your name, like charity and forgiveness. That’s an idea we would never come up with. That’s for sure. You know that better than anybody.

I thought that the one with the 2 on the shield was a coverall for the new incarnation, not 2.0,3.0, etc. I agree with T.R. no way would they approve all of those, but a new one, meant to supplant the old one for the new format has a good shot I think.

OK, Some folks don't like the idea of a MB for every FTL fart noise we make which make sense.. And yet the FTL 2 seems like a significant enough event for it's own new badge. I'll give the poll a little more time and live by the results.

Peace!

I think if people thumbed everything up to this point, they will go on thumbing till 100 or 1000 pages, won't they? And I totally agree on grandfathering...
