Unless the rules have changes since I played, during setup when you draw 3 route cards, you must keep 2.

Good episode Scott, did you conciously leave out any mention of the Europe game (Like it's your goal to discuss only one game every episode) I've noticed your episodes typically make no mention of any other games, (Like similar games that it compares to or something).

If you're planning on reviewing Europe later I understand, but if not (and it seems like it wouldn't be fun to do basically the same game in two different episodes, it might have been nice to let an unfamiliar audience know that there was a Europe map as well.

I think he does mention the Europe one briefly saying that it's a bit more complex....

Nice review, Scott, all your reviews are great for the visual learners like myself!

Yup, that's the plan. When the new TTR comes out next month, I plan on doing an episode with Europe and Marklin as soon as I can get my hands on it, making this one a "pre-requisite" (just like class).

I wanted to make this one as clear of craziness as possible in order to make it one more appropriate for new folks.

And the opening/closing fake accent fits into this "clear of craziness" idea exactly how...? :p

Fake?! I earned that accent growing up in rural Oklahoma on a horse farm! I actually lived in Oklahoma and Texas for 25 years, and still slip out with the occasional Howdy (which gets me odd looks up here in Syracuse).

Every once in a while, you can hear a bit of a twangy word escape my lips as I talk. (I really noted it in this episode in the "Game Bits" section, as I still had the accent on my mind.)

Even though I'm nowhere near it now (being a professor in a city), I'm still a farm boy at heart.
