Nice results. But I guess you can only clip one counter at a time with this thing?
Yes, but because the counter is in a 'slot', it's very easy & quick to turn to the next corner.

I find it easier to align holding the tool the other way around so you can see what is being clipped. Helps avoid mistakes.
With my brief testing so far I prefer the way illustrated - it ensures the clipping drops out and never interferes with the next corner.

It costs money and takes time. Therefore it isn't 'perfect'. Now I have the 'perfect' solution which is free and takes no time.

DON'T CLIP!

That sounds to me like avoidance or dismissal of the problem, not a solution.
That is of course fine if you feel that rough counter corners are not an issue, as many do.
Unfortunately, even at my low level of CDO, I do feel it is an issue.shake

"Implementing the Final Solution" is a crass phrase - and I am being serious, not joking around.

I hear it, I see it, I cringe.

To use it in a public forum, especially a wargamer forum is not very nice.

The OP did a good thing changing it.

---------------------

Have a supervisor who used that term in describing projects - sent him a link on what the term historically means - he does not use the phrase now.

He simply did not know.

By the use of it, the OP in this thread apparently knew what the phrase meant - his attempt on irony is noted - but the use of THAT phrase is unpleasant.

---------------------

The same thing gets my ire up when I see wargamers heavily fixated on SS Envy - and folks who go around the internet with a handle like Peiper or wear SS runes just make me not like them.

It is a dark side of the hobby we can do without.

---------------------

Off my soapbox, for now.

carry on smartly....

Within the UK, no - but Amazon UK does have the Crop-O-Dile new radius Corner Chomper. Although posted from the US it does have normal Amazon UK postal rates.

I have one of those -- it's okay, but far from perfect. I have to cut laminate twice, flipping, or it'll usually leave material behind.

Agreed, although I did get much better results when using a fast hard cut rather than a careful hesitant one.

The link I posted has a testimonial from a guy from Finland, so I think he'll ship internationally, and apparently it's the same hardware.

How much is your time (and finger integrity, if you're an idiot with an X-acto like I am) worth to you though?

I have to say, my thought were the same - too expensive. But then I saw that I could round - not clip - the counters, and they just looked well worth it! It really changes the look of counters, gives them much more visual appeal. Clipped counters look... well, clipped. Artificially blunted. These look much more complete & neat.

I am very well aware of that. What I wasn't sure of, if posting such a phrase today (exactly 70 years after the Wannseekonferez) was coincidence or intent.
It probably was coincidence: the 70 years are being commented a bit here in Germany, not sure if it is like that everywhere.

In the US, do you think a local store would carry something like this tool? If so, thoughts on where...michaels, scrapbook store, etc.?

Thanks...

You can certainly find corner rounders in Michael's etc but they may be more "light duty" for scrapbooking and might not work so well for counters.

So, wondering what people consider the best option?

1) 3mm Radius Cutter on Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Radius-Steel-Corner-Cutter-Rounder/dp/...

2) 3mm Radius Cutter on LyBrary.com - http://www.lybrary.com/corner-rounder-18-3-mm-p-33513.html

1 & 2 are the same thing. 3 has the advantage of cutting multiple counters at the same time, and being adjustable for depth of cut. On the other hand, it has the disadvantage of cutting - not rounding - and requiring much more manual precision from the user.

Mine is en route, I don't actually have one in my hands so I can't personally vouch for its suitability for counters. But by induction if it's the same thing as one that has been vouched for by others...

Just don't want the blamethrower frying me if it doesn't work very well :-)
