We are having our monthly Family Game day in Kanata on Sunday, February 5th. We will have board games and card games for all ages and toys and activities for the younger kids and you are welcome to bring your own games as well.

Last months pizza game day was so successful, we're going to do it again. However, we have some stiff competition with the Super Bowl in the evening so we're going to go from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. so that those who just want to come out for the afternoon can do so.

Also, we're planning on bringing out our Heroscape collection and setting up a couple of maps so if you are interested in playing Heroscape or if you want to warm up for the Heroscape tournament at the Game Summit (http://www.gamesummit.ca/) in a couple of weeks, we'd love to have you come out. We have plenty of terrain and lots of figures so you don't need to bring your own unless you have an army you really want to try out.

If you are thinking of coming and staying for the pizza, please let me know, either on this thread or by sending me a GeekMail, so I will know how much pizza to bring. Also, I'm asking for those who want pizza to provide $2 per person, if they are able. Just to add a little variety, I would like to encourage people to bring food to share like salads, snacks, deserts, drinks or whatever they would like to share (of course, no cheesies or other game unfriendly snacks ). There are ovens and microwaves available at the church if you want to bring something that requires heating.

What: Family Games Day and Pizza
Where: Kanata Community Christian Reformed Church
46 Castlefrank Rd.
When: February 5th. 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Any comments or suggestion are welcome. Hope to see you there,
Michael

Owen and I had a blast last month but we have all day NFL plans so we will miss this month. Owen would love to see Heroscape another time.

Hi,

My three boys and I are interested in coming to play Heroscape. This would be our first time at the Kanata game days. The catch - I won't know until Saturday afternoon if all of us can make it (have to wait to see how my son's team does in their hockey tournament). However, I think at least one of us will be there regardless. We'll stay for pizza and bring a snack.

Thank you Michael for hosting and the pizza! Sorry I forgot about the drinks. :/

Also thanks to Don, Eric, and Steve for joining me in a game of W&T. Glen More with Steve was also quite fun with some very interesting mechanics although my ending score was just a little over a third of Steve's.

Re: Family Game Day in Kanata on February 5th
We had another good turnout yesterday with a total of 15 people (6 kids and 9 adults). There were several games of Heroscape played as well as King of Tokyo and Dungeon Petz as well as the games Remi mentioned in the previous comment. All in all, I would say it was a good game day. Thanks to everyone who participated and brought snacks (mmmm, M&Ms. So good and game friendly )
