Add one more to the list... and also one more who will be going back and revisiting his previous clips to get this awesome round-corner-ness.

Jeff,

Can these be purchased over-the-counter someplace? Or just at amazon?

I plan to clip the corners of counter sheets for initial practice, but I will also revisit my Star Fleet Battles chits for a full scale trial run. I can't get anyone to play SFB so any small errors should go un-noticed and I will be an expert by the time I start on new games. shake

You may be able to find them at a Micheal's or a scrapbooking store. If you happen to live near Portland, OR then you could visit the actual storefront of Oregon Laminations Co. www.oregonlam.com

I haven't seen it anywhere else, though I suppose it's possible. It's not a craft or hobby item, I believe it was originally designed to trim laminated ID badges and similar things.

You might want to make it so you are looking at the bottom of the counter. That trims the corners in the same direction the counter was punched.

Re: Implementing the Perfect Solution... to counter clipping

Second counter - following Rich's suggestion to flip the counter around so that the bottom's facing towards me. Also, taking more care to ensure that the counter is firmly positioned within the guides. This thing does a fantastic job.

No more grease issues (that went away after the third clip on the first counter).

[OCD disclaimer]Also, the little bump in the upper right hand corner is from the table surface and not on the counter.[/OCD disclaimer]

I am moved to profanity. blush

That is the shit.

I am now checking the mailbox three times daily until I have this in hand!

Dammit! Why did I continue following this thread!?!? It just cost me some cash.

On the bright side...I agree with other sentiments that this gadget is indeed the shiznit!

That won't even LOOK at a typical counter. Trust me, the leverage on that design will barely cut through playing cards.

That might do it, but from the look of it, the radius (on both these items) is 1/4", way too big for counters...

This does a very good job of reclipping unless you made them into total octagons.

Fortunately, the only game I've clipped has been Combat Commander. After getting that cutter, I may spring for some new counters!

I have fallen to the drake side! I got mine yesterday and started on a few blank counters. Then moved on to the bridge out and out of supply counters for The Battle for Normandy so my wirsts should fall off before I am done. It is really lovely, I am not a counter cliper, but after seeing the photos I had to try it out.

That is of course fine if you feel that rough counter corners are not an issue, as many do.
Unfortunately, even at my low level of CDO, I do feel it is an issue.shake

Wow you are so OCD that you had to alphabetize the letters.

I've been using a chisel blade xacto ... but this is looking good and the store is a couple miles away.

If you go there, I'm very curious to know if they've seen an odd surge in the orders. This can't be a high demand item, I bet they're wondering what the hell is going on.

I had been using a chisel blade xacto.

Does anyone live two miles from the Xacto main office? whistle

I would be curious to know if they've seen an odd drop in orders...

Talk dirty to me baby!

Just realized I can get $40 of Amazon store credit for being approved for that Amazon VISA... amazingly, it took the diligent financial experts at Chase Bank only ~15 seconds to approve my application! They must really work hard over there!

The clipper + shipping to FL was $39.96, so I came out $0.04 ahead. The clipper will arrive in ~3 weeks, the new VISA card about the same. The former will be carried back to China in my wife's cousin's luggage, and the latter will be canceled immediately upon receipt.

Hard to argue with Chase Bank paying me $0.04 to try out that counter clipper!
