Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again.

The questions can be a little confusing, but if you consult the rules, it becomes clear.

The bazaar in Cairo is bustling already early in the morning. Carpets, precious oils, and exquisite spices are waiting for their customers. But only a large booth will attract their attention! Sometimes a market barker will be of great help, because the competitors are not idle and the customers do not like to walk long distances.

In Kairo, 2 to 4 players, playing the role of traders, expand their market stalls to lure rich clientele. At the start of the game, each player owns 3 small market stalls on the game board. There are stalls in 6 different colors which will attract customers of the corresponding color. If a player moves a customer to one of his stalls, he will earn money; the larger the stall, the more money he will earn!

Space is very limited at the marketplace - watch out for the best sites before they are no longer available! The player owning the most points at the end of the game will be the winner.

In this contest, you will learn a little about Kairo. Answer the questions correctly, and you just might walk away with some great games from Queen Games!

Enter Now!

Just curious, when does the contest end?
thanks

This game looks fantastic AND has a purple player? I can dig it!

Actually there is no purple player. There is a purple customer and all players can build purple shops to attract him. Players are symbols rather than colors, which seemed a bit odd.

And it is a bit odd that the purple customer will only visit restaurants and is the only customer that will visit the restaurants.

I suppose it is better to imagine that the customer colors represent the change in focus of each customer as they wander through the market. This makes more sense than single minded customers being beamed in and out of the market.

This game looks really interesting though and I am looking forward to it.

ASL ... yes, this is my Desert Island Game. If I have to give up all my 3000+ games and only allowed to keep one, this would be it. This bloody game stood the test of time. Around for more than 25 years - simply the best.

I got to play the finished prototype of this at the 2011 BGGCon and enjoyed it a lot. It is on my list of games to get for 2012 so it would be great if the first contest I won was for a game I knew I wanted. Good Luck to all.(but maybe not as much as to me?whistle)

4/5 and that's with the rulebook... no clue which I missed

I'm wondering if maybe we have a different definition of "action" in the question about the number of actions taken in a phase.

I agree that the wording in the rulebook does not give a very clear answer to the question of how many actions a player may take in the Build Phase, and thought it was odd of them to ask a question that points out a deficiency in the rules. I did manage to answer the way they wanted and I got 5/5.

The initial description of the Build Stall Action on page 4 should be changed to state that the player performs exactly one of the 3 actions after playing one or more cards. They currently say that "The active player must play 1 card first", then go on to explain that playing a stall card means playing 1 Standard card, 1 Joker card and a coin, or 3 of any card. The description of each of the 3 actions available after playing the card(s) does say that play continues to the next player, but it would be helpful if it was made more clear that the player only gets to play one of them.

As someone else mentioned, the "Move a stall" action description is missing its "c)" after the bullet.

Hopefully they still have time to make some corrections to the rulebook. After reading again after entering I noticed there were some issues with the "Moving a customer" example diagrams as well.

The example with the purple customer doesn't seem to represent anything. The purple dots showing the path are out of place, and the X and check are meaningless. From its location, I think this image is supposed to represent that the yellow customer could not be moved to this shop while the purple customer blocks the entrance, and maybe that purple could be moved to the purple shop.

The diagram in the section about using market barker cards is also messed up. It shows some green tracks walking through market expansions to get to the entrance. I think this should show the same image ad the previous example of moving to the nearest market entrance, but showing that the customer can now be moved to the market that previously showed an X if a market barker card is played. Somehow the image got zoomed so there is no useful context and the path markers are out of place.
