Hi all

I am looking to play this game for the first time in a couple od days time and just had a quick question to ask (sorry if it is too easy to anwswer!).

If you play a card in a highlight who has a skill which cannot be used yet (eg a tackle skill, but there is no opposition when the card is laid), can the skill be used later, once an opposition card is laid for instance?

Any light shed on this would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

G.

Usually, no. A player must use all his skills as they are played or they are wasted. This MIGHT change with Star Players, since some of them have some kooky effects, but this is the rule in general.

Thanks for the quick response Darian - I only have the Internet at work and will be playing the game at home, so I needed this 'obvious' question answered before it was too late!

Many thanks!

The statement above is correct.

In general, in this game, all the cards do exactly what they say they do. There are very few rules ambiguities, in fact, I haven't run into any. If you feel there's a rule ambiguity, think about the "solution" that would require the least hidden implications or things that the card doesn't say explicitly, and it's usually correct.

Re: Delayed skills
Although there is a Star Player on the Orc team named Varag Goul-Chewer who has an ongoing response that lets his team gain a fan point every time the ball carrier at the match-up he's at is downed. This is an example of play where you can keep coming back to exercise an ability albeit a Response instead of a Skill, but it does bear worth mentioning.
