My husband and I are looking to extend our group of gaming buddies so that we can have more than one game night a month. We're not looking for a large crowd, just 2-4 individuals who are interested in getting together at our home once or twice a month to play various board games.

We are looking for board game enthusiasts who enjoy competitive as well as cooperative games and who are not overly cutthroat or militant. In other words "good sports, good winners, and good losers." Congenial folk who have a good sense of humor and enjoy light banter and don't take themselves or the game too seriously. We feel the point of playing games is to have fun, to enjoy the game mechanics and the player interaction. Winning is just an added perk.

We are both very sensitive to cigarette smoke so we are looking for NON-smokers only. I know this will exclude a lot of folks. Sorry. On the other hand we do enjoy various libations in moderation (such as beer, wine, and cocktails) and would welcome those who drink responsibly (no sloppy drinkers who spill on the games!!).

If you like a wide variety of games including light strategy, euro games, and family games (NOT heavy 6 hour war games) and you fit the rest of the above qualifiers we would love to hear from you. Please leave a comment or send me a private message.

Game on!

Shanda --

My wife and I may be interested, depending on the night of the week selected.

We host a Sunday game day once a month at our place on B.I. with 10 - 20 people attending. If you'd like to be added to the invite list, please shoot me your email address.

Re: A Few Good Gamers Wanted in Port Orchard, WA (or vicinity)
Martin,

Due to my husband, Eric's, Mon-Fri work week our preferred day and time for games is Saturday evening. We are also open to a Friday evening, but sometimes after a long work week Eric is too tired for gaming. Another limiter on our gaming is our son, who is 8½ years old. We do not have a sitter at this time which generally prevents us from going out for games, unless one of us stays home.

When we host friends at our home we typically start between 6-7pm and put our son in his room to watch a movie until his bedtime at 8pm. This allows us to play relatively free from interruption until midnight or thereabouts.

I have joined the Kitsap Board Game group on meet-up a couple of months ago and saw that you had an event on Bainbridge Island on Sunday, Feb 12. I wasn't able to make that event, but might be able to make the next one if I come by myself (hubby will have to stay home with the boy).

We have a smaller home and just one big table for games. We can accommodate a total of 6 or 7 players, but most of our games are for 4,5 or 6. Selection for 7 is very limited.

If the time works for you we would love to have you and your wife. Let me know and we can work on putting a date on the calender.

Hey Shanda,

I have recently moved to Port Orchard and am looking to find a small group to play board games with. I do enjoy the same type of games you mentioned, I'm flexible and do not smoke. I have a girlfriend whom does not enjoy board games like I do, so it may be just me at times or both of us at other times. Thank you for the post. Take care

Ryan

Ryan, Welcome to the PO. I sent you a private message regarding the game group I've been hosting at my home. We have met-up twice so far and the next session is coming up on April 21. We are meeting on the third Saturday of the month, but occasionally get together on other weekends as time allows. Message me and let me know if you are still interested.

We have established a nice little game group that has met 3 times so far. We are meeting on the 3rd Saturday of the month and playing until midnight or so. Well this last Saturday I think is was 1:30am when we wrapped up.

At the last session we played 7 Wonders a couple of times and Dragon Rampage. At other sessions we've played Ra, Chrononauts, Pergamon, Dominion, and Utopia. We're seeing a great mix of games and are usually learning at least one new game each time we meet.

The only thing I have any complaints about is that since we are typically 5 to 6 players all of my 4-player games are gathering dust! Not sure what to do about this. Either I need to find a couple more people so we can break into two groups of four or I need to add another game night just for a foursome.
