Aaron,

When I did mine, I turned the clipper over so I can see the opening and the actual part of the corner that would be clipped. You have to be careful that the counter doesn't slide around and skew the counter radius.

I will post a picture in just a moment.

Here you can see when upside down the part of the white counter that is going to be clipped. I find that it also lets you see that the counter is set up well.

Ok you guys finally convinced me, at least for the 5/8 inch counters (and larger). I have become quite adept at trimming counters with scissors but this might have that beat.
Thanks for the heads up

Ack I didn't see the post about the 2mm cutter, darn wonder if I can cancel my order
2mm would be perfect for me

I am totally happy with the 3mm for 5/8 but I will probably end up with a 2mm as well for the 1/2ers.

I do the same inverting of the clipper as mentioned above for 1/2 inch counters now and am happy with the results so far but my CDO will likely force the 2mm purchase. shake

I used the CC:E 1/2 inch objective counters for my test group since I have the 5/8 inch objective counters in CC:M which replace them. ninja

So that begs the question, "Do I clip CC:M next or do I go with TS or Steel Wolves as I had been planning?"

What do we think?

Guys, it's $19.95, not $30. Sometimes you can even catch it on sale for a lot less than that.

Ughh!!!! I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering the 3mm version. But, since a bigger percentage of my counters are 1/2", I'll have to consider waiting for the 2mm version.

The thing is.....I'm not even a counter clipper. But, you guys make it sound sooooooo good! cool

Your C4 still has an edge when it comes to overall time spent clipping, Dave. But the photos of perfectly rounded edges in this thread speak for themselves.

Embrace the power of "and".

Noiseman, when you did those 1/2" counters in your image, were you sliding them all the way in, or were you being careful to not quite slide them in all the way?

I wasn't being too careful. As PMGeuze suggested, just look in the open top and when you see the chad-to-be centered over the die fire way.

I sent an email to what I believe is the supplier in China, and they said they didn't know anything about a 2mm version -- they only have 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm. I wonder if the 2mm unit that Oregon Laminations is getting is made by a different manufacturer.

I will complete CC:E this evening when I get home.
I could almost cry for joy, if crying was allowed in wargaming. blush

I was doing a self pity party sitting on the fence, knowing I wanted it, but just couldn't push the button, and then I read "I could almost cry for joy"... Sheesh!! - Thanks Paul. Now I'm enjoying the small pain of waiting for it to show up.

3mm on 1/2 inch counters looks fine to me, I like the rounded look - I could wait no longer.

Of course, the only reason I saw this post now is that I came home to finish clipping CC:E and for something else... Oh yeah, lunch.shake

Counter says, "Ooh, baby. Give me all 8 millimeters and make it hurt!" kiss

So the Clipper clips the counter 4 times and tosses the counter back in the box roughly! devil

I am not sure this is about an additional mm in the right place, or getting the multiplier to work for you. This is about the esthetics of perfectly rounded edges, In getting ready to pull the trigger, it is about turning the clipper over so that the opening can be seen. It is about being careful to make sure that it doesn't slide around and skew the counter radius.

Make sure that you aren't questioned about having slid it all the way in, or being careful to not quite slide it all the way in.

This is about buying gadgets for the wife and coming - yeah, coming home at lunch to play with the toys and then crying for the joy of it. All this for forty bucks after shipping. And it doesn't even use batteries.

Thanks to those who provided poll input. I will bow to your collective wisdom.

CC:M got the most for 1st so it is next (starting after I submit his post), followed by Steel Wolves tomorrow (preparatory for play Sunday) and TS sometime soon after that.

Thanks again.

The one and only game I've found a problem with so far is Lock 'n Load: Heroes of the Blitzkrieg - the target acquisition counters have an identifying letter right up in the top left corner that's nicked by the corner rounder. Still readable, but definitely some of the print is lost.

Were those ASL counters a reclip or a fresh clipping? I would be getting this pretty much for recipping my ASL set but I'd like to see the results of a reclipped 1/2 inch counter first.
