Has anyone played a 2 player game using 2 wizards each, I just got the game wondering if it could even work.

Not yet, but im planning to do so the next time i play it, but With some modifications: lower the vp needed to 3 per team and allow change spells between wizards within LoS. Of course you wouldnt be able to take treasures from the same team.

Re: 2 players with 2 wizards?
I did this with my boyfriend last night (with VP requirement of 3) with a Mut/Con/Tha deck and it was pretty fun. It ran longer than expected (an hour and a half) but he's still learning the game. I do think it's done better when it's a less confrontational deck as if you have a lot of attacks in it there it's likely to end with someone dying and their teammate running away with no shot at victory. With the deck we used there was plenty of chaotic conjuring that really emphasized the "capture the flag" mechanisms (throwing up walls to block pursuers, etc.) which was fun enough that I might even switch Thaumaturgy for Mentalism or Alchemy.

I would say use 3VP as win condition because more would make things drag quite a bit.

I didn't think far enough ahead to say "support spells may be cast between team members" but that would be a reasonable thing to try out. Also it might be good to clarify if any teammate can use either base for scoring and how doors work for teammates. Try out variations on them as I think we said doors were still color-coded and you could only use the base of your color but allowing other rules would probably change the pace of the game quite a bit.
