Hi,

I am Andrei, the designer of Wild Fun West and I am looking for play testing groups for this game.

About Wild Fun West
- 3 to 8 players.
- 10 minutes to learn, 30-60 minutes to play
- (semi)party game, the main mechanic is auction/bidding
- luck is an important element

Game description
Players are working together to build a town in the Wild West, making decisions based on the amount of money they are willing to invest. While the players appear to be building the town together, each of them has a secret agenda. The aim of each player is to have built at least 4 of the 5 objective buildings on their secretive Objective Card.

To earn money, players employ professions. Each turn, a number of Profession Cards is open for bidding and players participate in auctions to get them. Professions not only influence each player’s direct income, but they also influence the player on their left, adding another layer of strategy to the bidding process. Every turn, players will bid for new professions and the building that will be built in the town. The players will then collect income from their active Profession Cards.

Game components
- 32 Profession cards
- 20 Building Cards
- 20 Objective cards
- 150 money tokens, 1 first player token
- rules

My proposal

I will send by mail to the gaming group a package with all the cardboard cards and the rule book. I would like in exchange nothing more than feedback and proposals for improvement. All contributions will be acknowledged in the credits section of the final rule book.

If you are interested, please say a few words about your gaming group, like how many people you can involve and how many times you think you will be able to play the game and leave an email address(it can be geek mail, normal email is preferred). I will get back to you to discuss the details.

Thanks in advance!

Here's a link to in on IMDB:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058855/

It was originally a sort of James Bond in the wild west concept. I've heard it referred to as an early version of Steam Punk on TV. It ran for several years & was a big hit in it's day.

I am attending Gamestorm ( http://gamestorm.org/ ) and would like to playtest the game during the event. There is an area specifically set aside for testing prototypes (Game Lab). A few games and then word of mouth should result in quite a few plays. You can contact me here at BGG or by email enichol@crestviewcable.com. Thank you.

Hey there Andrei,

I am totally interested in play testing this game. I have various game groups that I can bring this game to ranging from groups that play just for fun to serious, dedicated board gamers. I think it would be interesting to get different types of gamers to sit down and provide their opinions.

More specifically, I play with my brother and his friends and I would consider them dedicated board gamers willing to try anything that comes their way. They love games and would be more then willing to provide their opinions. (5-10 people depending on the week)

I also go to a local meet up group in Toronto and play games with other like minded gamers. I'm sure I could get a group of people together to play some games and provide their thoughts. (2-10)

Finally, I play with my group of friends. I would consider them to be casual gamers. They like to play but they certainly don't make it a priority. That being said, they are all artists in various fields and have strong opinions on all things artistic. (2-6)

That's about it. If you need somebody who will provide opinions that is not afraid to give you honest feedback, I would be more then happy to facilitate some gaming sessions. I'm sure I could easily get these various groups to play 20 - 40 games over a reasonable period of time. (two to three months.)

I probably won't have time to PnP anything, but if you can get copies to the UK by Friday 2nd March I am going to Sorcon.co.uk for the weekand and will playtest it there for you - and could leave a copy on the desk for anyone to play.

Last year Martin Wallace (Treefrog) left an early copy of a few Acres of Snow out to playtest not sure how successful the attempt was, but I am taking a copy of a volcano game that a friend and I are working on (to playtest) and show Martin as he is coming again this year.

Might want to change the name of the game so it doesnt conflict with the TV series, (or get negative reactions if anyone had the movie inflicted on them...) aheh.

Also saves you from potential trademark issues and or C&D letters.

That and some might consider the title to be misleading. Same as with the Walnut Grove game with misleading name and box art.

Wild Wild West is also one of Will Smith's not so great movies - you may take a look here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120891/.

A would strongly advise a name change to something not connected to an old TV series and an odd movie! gulp
