This was a 3-player pbp game to playtest the cards for Curse of Set. Moderator was Kailindorian.

The opponents:

Shad’s Elite Warriors of Gaia:
Shroud-of-Night (10)
Paneb, Scholar of the 12 Hours (4)
Grek Twice-Tongue (6)

Fenris' ruthless Bane infestors:
Fara’un Shark (11)
Latonia The Temptress (8)
Mapute (1)

Paf’s notorious Pentex deathsquad
Barnaby Shadrack (9)
Fangthane Bloodjaw (2)
Maze-Eater (3)
Tongue-Biter (1)
Judas (1)
Carlotta Stearns (4)

**Barnaby starts this game equipped with a Submachine Gun.

Turn 1:

Redraw:
Fenris’ infestors play Checking the Classifieds. They search their sept deck for a territory (Termite Mounds) and add it to their sept hand.

Paf’s deathsquad plays a New Moon. Note that the New Moon prevents Garou, Banes and Fera to frenzy, but not Fomori. They also play a Mass Pollution. Note that Maze-Eater’s Rage instead of his Gnosis increases by one.

Regeneration:
Nothing

Resource:
Paf’s deathsquad recruit an Enticer, a Kinfolk Small Town Cop and a Nameless Cannon Fodder.

Shroud equips a Mantle of El Dorado and a Wyrm Skin.

Mapute brings a Termite Mounds into play. The Bane infestors find a pack totem in Relshab the Faceless Eater.
Fenris uses the Termite Mounds ability to look at the top 3 cards of her own combat deck. Fara'un Shark plays Bane Infestation on the Mantle of El Dorado. It is now corrupted and transferred from Shroud-of-Night to the Unbound.

Umbra:
Nothing

Moot:
Nothing

Combat:
Paf’s discards:
Fast Strike
Stunning Strike
Anatomy Lesson
Hunting Party
Head Butt

Fenris’ discards:
Discard:
Anatomy Lesson
Block and Roll
Massive Wound

Shad’s discards:
Lucky Blow
Frenzy
Head Butt
Fancy Footwork
Bitter Blow

Before Alpha’s are chosen the Kinfolk Small Town Cop puts Fara'un Shark in jail.

Alpha's:
Shroud-of-Night (10)
Latonia The Temptress (8)
Enticer (4)

Shroud-of-Night attacks the Enticer as his Alpha action. The Bubasti plays the Whole Nine Yards and turns to Crinos. In round 1 Shroud plays a Surprise Attack. The Enticer, however, plays no card. She is hit by one damage. In round 2 Shroud plays a Bitter Blow, while the Enticer plays no card. The latter takes 3 more damage, making a total of 4, killing her. Combat ends and Shad earns 4 victory points for the kill.

Lationia attacks Shroud-of-Night as her Alpha action. The Bane plays an Eyes of Hate. Shroud is forced to play his lowest Rage, lowest damage combat action each round. In round 1 Shroud-of-Night plays a Lucky Blow, while Latonia plays no card. The Bane takes 3 damage and shifts into her Battle form. She has 5 health left. Between round 1 and 2 Latonia plays a Roar of the Wyrm. That means Shroud cannot play a combat action in round 2. In round 2 the bastardy Bane plays a Vital Blow. The Bubasti wizard takes 4 damage. Shroud is considered to have Rage 1 the next round. Shroud, still effected by the Eyes of Hate, plays a Head Wound in round 3. Since he is considered to have Rage 1, the card is a bluff. Latonia plays a Dry Gulch, dealing 4 damage. The Bubasti has a total of 8 damage and dies. Combat ends and Fenris earns 10 victory points.

Before the end of the turn Relshab devours the Kinfolk Small Town Cop. The following two cards from Fenris’ combat deck were removed from the game as a consequence:
- Fancy Footwork
- Run Like Hell

Turn 2:

Redraw:
Nothing

Regeneration:
Latonia regenerates 3 damage from a Lucky Blow.

Fara'un is released from jail.

Resource:
Fenris draws 3 additional sept cards (Mantle ability). Fara'un equips a Skin of the Hellbound.

Umbra:
Nothing

Moot:
Barnaby calls a Corporate Responsibility. Before voting Barnaby Shadrack (renown 9) plays a Blackmail on Latonia The Temptress (renown 8). This would give Paf 8 additional votes. Fenris counters this by having Fara’un play Dominance. It negates Barnaby's Blackmail. Fenris earns 1 victory point. Paf responds by playing another Blackmail on Latonia. Paf has 20 + 8 = 28 votes in favor of the Board Meeting. Fenris and Shad have 12 +4 = 16 votes against it. The Junta passes and Paf earns 3 victory points.

Combat:
Just before combat redraw, Mapute makes use of Termite Mounds' ability. The top 3 cards of Paf's combat deck are revealed to Fenris.

Paf’s discards:
Attacking the Wyrm
Vicious Assault
Fast Strike
Spite

Fenris discards:
Nothing

Shad’s discards:
Nothing

Alpha's:
Fara’un Shark (11)

Judas (1)

Fara’un attacks Judas as her Alpha action. In round 1 Fara'un plays a Dodge, which she makes into a Rage 1, Damage 2 Combat Action that is Aggravated (her ability). Judas plays an Umbral Escape. No damage is done. In round 2 both Fara'un and Judas play no card. Combat ends.

Paneb decides to pass his Alpha action.

Judas attacks the umbral reflection of the Termite Mounds as his Alpha action. Since none of Fenris’ pack are in the Umbra, she has no way to defend. The territory is destroyed.

Relshab devours the Nameless Cannon Fodder. The following two cards of Fenris’ combat deck were removed from the game:
- Cornered Rat
- Head Wound

Turn 3:

Redraw:
Shad uses Paneb's ability to draw a Realm, Pangea.

Regeneration:
Nothing

Resource:
Far'un gets a Blood Diamond. Fenris draws 3 additional sept cards (Mantle ability). Latonia then gets a Skin of the Hellbound.

Shad's pack sees a Wyldling entering the umbral Hunting Grounds. They also find some support with the Sept of the Etesian Wind. In open resource, Grek Twice-Tongue uses the ability of his newfound caern to step sideways and plays Pangea.

Barnaby's team recruit a Corrupt Official and a fellow Pentex Executive and Limousine. They camp out in the Caern of Rytthiku. They allow a Zmei to enter the Hunting Grounds.

Umbra:
Nothing

Moot:
Barnaby Shadrack calls a Board Meeting, namely Civil Unrest, which will be attached to the lurking Zmei. After the Board Meeting was called, Relshab starts eating the Zmei as if it was one giant sausage... Fenris removes the following two cards from the game as a result:
Dry Gulch
Septum Crushed

Combat:
Fenris' discards:
None

Paf's discards:
Stunning Strike
Full Auto

Shad's discards:
Umbral Escape
Frenzy
Head Wound
Evasion
Run like Hell

Alpha's:
- Fara’un Shark (11)
- Grek Twice-Tongue (6)
- Maze-Eater (3)

Fara'un attacks Maze-Eater as her Alpha action. The Unbound plays a Roar of the Wyrm. The Hellcat cannot play a combat action in round 1. Paf plays a Cornered Rat and draws 3 additional combat cards. Fara'un frenzies and draws 8 additional combat cards. In round 1 Fara'un plays a Mangle. Maze Eater receives 6 damage and should die. The Corrupt Official takes the death blow. Combat ends and Fenris earns 2 victory points.

Grek Twice-Tongue attacks the Wyldling as his Alpha action. The combat takes place in the Umbra. In round 1 Grek plays a Lucky Blow. However, the attack is dodged by the Wyldling (courtesy Fenris). In round 2 Grek plays another Lucky Blow, while the Wyldling plays a Septum Crushed (courtesy again Fenris). Grek plays a Head Butt in round 3. The Wyldling plays a Spite. Grek receives 1 more damage. He has 2 health left. The Wyldling, however, receives 4 damage, making a total of 7. It is killed. Combat ends and Shad earns 6 victory points.

Turn 4:

Redraw:
Nothing

Regeneration:
Grek regenerates a Spite. The damage of Septum Crushed remains for now.

Resource:
Grek equips a Fang Necklace of Fenris.

Fenris draws 3 additional sept cards (Mantle ability). Latonia gets a Blood Diamond.

Barnaby's deadsquad acquires another Kinfolk Small Town Cop and another Nameless Cannon Fodder.

Umbra:
Nothing

Moot:
Nothing

Combat:
Paf's discards:
Vicious Assault

Shad's discards:
Frenzy

Fenris' discards:
Desperate Struggles and Gang Beating

Alpha's:
Fara'un (11)
Grek Twice-Tongue (6)
Judas (1)

Fara'un attacks Judas as her Alpha action. After playing Eyes of Hate, the Unbound frenzies, drawing 8 additional combat cards. In round 1 Judas plays a Spite, while Fara'un plays a Mangle. Judas dies, combat ends and Fenris earns 1 victory point.

Grek is in the Umbra and has no target. He passes his Alpha action.

Barnaby Shadrack plays a Streamlining, which is canceled by Fara'un. She plays a Dominance. Fenris earns 1 victory point for playing it.

Turn 5:

Redraw:
Nothing

Regeneration:
Grek regenerates a Septum Crushed in Regeneration Phase. Fara'un regenerates a Spite.

Resource:
Shad's pack sees a Wyldling enter the Hunting Grounds. A Ka Spirit joins his pack as an ally.

Paf's deathsquad allies itself with a Salamander and a second Kinfolk Small Town Cop. They also track down another Zmei in the Hunting Grounds.

Fenris plays a new Termite Mounds.

In Resource Open Grek, who is still in the Umbra, sneak attacks the Wyldling. In round 1 the Wyldling plays a Stunning Strike, while Grek plays a Surprise Attack. Since the Stunning Strike is Fast Striking, it is not negated by the Surprise Attack. Both Grek and the Wyldling take 1 damage. In round 2 the Wyldling plays a Head Butt. Grek plays a Fancy Footwork. No damage is done. In round 3 Grek plays a Head Wound, which is Blocked by the Wyldling. No damage is done. In round 4 the Wyldling plays a Block and Roll, preventing the damage from Grek's Bitter Blow. No damage is done. In round 5 both Grek and the Wyldling play a Bitter Blow. Both receive 3 damage. The Wyldling has 4 damage and needs 1 more damage to die. Grek has a total of 4 damage and has 3 health left. However, Shad is out of combat cards and decides to withdraw. Combat ends without a kill.

Umbra:
Fangthane Bloodjaw steps into the Umbra.

Fenris uses Termite Mounds to look at the top 3 cards of her combat deck.

Moot:
Nothing

Combat:
Shad's discards:
Redirected Attack and Entrail rend

Fenris' discards:
Block and an Anatomy Lesson

Paf's discards:

Alpha's:
Fara'un (11)
Salamander (9)
Ka Spirit (0)

Fara'un attacks the Salamander as her Alpha action. In round 1 the Salamander Umbral Escapes, while Fara'un plays a Fancy Footwork. No damage is done. The bastardy Unbound doesn't follow the fire elemental into the Umbra and combat ends after the second round.

Relshab eats and destroys the wounded Wyldling. The top two cards of Fenris' combat deck are removed from the game:
- Gang Beating
- Desperate Struggles 1

The Salamander attacks the Ka Spirit as its Alpha action. In round 1 the Ka Spirit plays a Bitch Slap. But before it takes effect, the Salamander's Fast Strike kills the Ka Spirit, sending it right back into Shad's sept deck. Combat ends and no victory points are earned.

Barnaby Shadrack again plays a Streamlining, which, like in turn 4, is canceled by Fara'un. She plays a Dominance. Fenris earns 1 victory point for playing it.

Turn 6:

Redraw:
Nothing

Regeneration:
Grek regenerates a Stunning Strike.

Resource:
Fenris draws 3 additional sept cards (Mantle). She plays another Termite Mounds. Latonia trades her Blood Diamond to Mapute.

Paf's deathsquad sees to it that another Zmei enters the Hunting Grounds.

Umbra:
Paneb steps into the Umbra.

Moot:
Barnaby Shadrack plays Civil Unrest, which will be attached to one of the Zmei in play. Fenris decides to abstain from voting, which means Paf's Boardmeeting passes.

Fenris uses one of her Termite Mounds to look at top 3 cards of her combat deck.

Combat:
Fenris' discards:
Head Wound

Shad's discards:
Evasion

Paf's discards:
Stunning Strike

Alpha's:
Fara'un (11)
Salamander (9)
Grek (6)

Fara'un attacks the Zmei as her Alpha action. Shad plays 'It's a Trap!'. Fenris may not withdraw and the target cannot be changed. Only Shad may play cards for the Zmei. He draws 13 additional combat cards (Zmei has 13 rage). In round 1 the Zmei plays a Surprise Attack and a Head Wound. Fara'un plays an Evasion. No damage is done. In round 2 Fara'un plays a Duck and Cover, while the Zmei plays a Fancy Footwork. No damage is done. In round 3 the Zmei plays a Head Wound. Fara'un plays...no card. The Unbound takes 2 damage. In round 4 the Zmei plays a Head Butt, an Entrail Rend, and Lucky Blow. Fara'un plays no card. The 8 damage from the Entrail Rend is negated by the Skin of the Hellbound. The Unbound takes 4 + 3 = 7 damage. She dies and combat ends.

Fenris clearly has a bone to pick with the Zmei. Relshab eats the first Zmei. The cards that Fenris has to remove from the game:
Mangle
Frenzy

Then Fenris discards the Totem...to play another Relshab from her hand immediatelly after. The new Relshab eats the second Zmei...nice and clean. Fenris removes the following two cards as a result:
Septum Crushed
Dodge

Fenris uses her second Termite Mounds to look at the top 3 cards of Paf's combat deck.

The Salamander challenges Latonia as its Alpha action. The Bane accepts. Latonia plays Eyes of Hate. The Salamander is forced to play its lowest Rage, lowest damage card each round. In round 1 Latonia plays a Vital Blow, while the Salamander plays a Vicious Assault. Latonia receives a total of 6 aggravated damage. The Salamander is hit by 4 damage and is considered Rage 1 for the purpose of playing combat actions next round. Latonia has 2 health left. The Salamander needs 3 more damage to die. Salamander withdraws and combat ends without a kill.

Barnaby plays a Misleading Memo. The Salamander attacks Latonia as a result. The Salamander won't be able to play a combat card in round 1 due to Roar of the Wyrm. In round 1 Latonia plays a Vital Blow. The Salamander dies a horrible death. Combat ends and Fenris earns another 9 victory points, making her the winner of this game.

Barnaby Shadrack plays another Misleading Memo. The Nameless Cannon Fodder attacks Latonia to finish her off before the end of the final turn. Latonia will actually use her special ability to make you discard and redraw your hand. In round 1 Nameless Cannon Fodder plays a Full Auto, while Latonia plays a Anatomy Lesson. The expendable Cannon Fodder takes 4 damage. Latonia takes 2 damage. Both opponents should be dead. However, Pentex Executive and Limousine takes the death blow for the Nameless Cannon Fodder.

Shad passes on his Alpha action. The game ends with a clear winner.

Fenris: 25 victory points
Shroud-of-Night (10)
Dominance (1)

Re: Playtest game: The Dream Court
If PaF had just gone after Shad instead and waited it out another turn he likely would have had game in the bag since losing Far'un pretty left me SOL with his boardmeetings. and he could easily have sent the Salamander after stuff.

NEVER THINK I'M OUT OF EVIL TRICKS. I always have more!
