This is a yearly convention that happens every May in Central Nebraska, just off I-80. This year it is March 2nd through 4th. Entrance to this convention is free!

There is a variety of gaming from board games, D & D, Magic tournaments and drafts, Warhammer 40K, and even a Settlers of Catan tournament. Plus much more, including lots of open gaming. There will be a board game library with plenty of selection available.

Go to http://www.kearneygamefest.com for more information and events. (It is still getting updated, so it may be off and on today, so check again if it not updated.)

Steve,

Will you have a copy of your game Bounce-Off available for play at the Kearney Gamefest? I'd love to see it in action and try it out!. . .

I certainly can bring it. I will also bring a couple other prototypes for people to play.

Steve, will your prototypes officially be part of the Golden Ticket program for patrons of the Gamefest? Just curious. . .

I am coming up from Omaha and would like to know if the Heroscape tournament will be over before the Dominion tournament starts? I would like to play in both of them if possible.

Mike,

You're in luck! (Hopefully!) We have moved the start date for the Dominion tournament back a few hours, specifically for that reason. We got enough people asking your very same question that we've now pushed the Dominion event to 4pm, which should hopefully give enough time that you and your kind will be able to play in both.

So ultimately, it's now in the hands of the Heroscape event, on how quickly it goes and so on. We are definitely working with each other to create the best overall experience. . .

That is great news, thank you so much! Now you have to find a game tournament or game that my buddy

can play while I am in the Dominion tournament. He is driving and said he would stay after Heroscape is over IF he could find something fun to play. Unlike me, he is not a huge Dominion fan. Not sure what is WRONG with him

Our game library will have plenty of games for people to play. I am bringing 30 to 50 games and I know others that are bringing many more than that.

Mike -

The Dominion tournament is designed for multiple four-player tables, each with a predetermined starting Kingdom set. Points are awarded based on where you place on your table each round, and there will either be three or four rounds, depending on how many players we get and time restraints. There will be a final "Victors' Round" for the highest cumulative scorers in these rounds, to determine the tournament's winners.

You'll never play the same set of starting cards twice, and I've designed them completely out of one single set of every card printed, so no duplicates! I designed the sets to contain some (hopefully) very interesting and unique combos to discover.

If you want any more details, just let me know. . .

That sounds like a perfect set up. Count me in! Of course I want MORE details. Do you dare post the Kingdom sets ahead of time? Are you the only one that will know them before the tournament?

I AM the only one who knows the set ups, and I know the little hidden combos and potential danger they possess. Casey will cry foul, but I did have my nine year old son help me test and tweak one of the setups, but otherwise it's under lock and key. (I AM also geeky enough that I've gone ahead and named each one of the sets. Hey! I had some spare time on my hands, I love Dominion, and... I am that geeky.)

If the tournament happens to hit the maximum 48 players, I am going to be throwing in additional prizes to the mix!!! If somebody plays an ultra-amazing combo-rific mega turn or pulls off one of the easter egg moves I've thrown in, I will definitely be giving them some sort of reward!

All the more reason to be sure everybody you know will be playing too. . .

Well I confirmed with Omahavice last night that I am willing to bum around the event while he and another rider get their Dominion on. I'm reasonably sure I can find *something* to do... whistle

Foul. Your son can't play. Gamefest rules. Section 3, subparagraph c1 clearly covers this.

Nevermind: I predict that I won't make the finals by points, but that you will feel sorry for me and let me in the finals because I was soooo close and then I will win it.

Deja vu all over again.

Casey - funny shake Although, unfortunately, my son won't be able to play after all. His younger brother is very sick and they've decided to stay home after all Count your blessings - you would have been pwn'ed by a nine-year-old!

Raider30 - You hate Dominion that much!!! You sure you don't want to just come on over and sign up?

Alright, that's enough emoticons for one post. . .

Cameron deserves all the credit. Great tournament. We should do one sometime in Lincoln. How many players do you think we could gather on a Saturday in the fall?
