Hi there, I've stumbled across this site whilst looking for somewhere to sell my ghettopoly board game. I would normally go straight onto eBay but ebay dont seem to like ghettopoly..... Anyhow, I jumped straight in to the auction thing on this site and listed my game for 50-100 gg. I've since realised (after being messaged) that gg is some sort of funky site currency and I want to remove my auction. How do I do this? I think I've now advertised my ghettopoly in the right place on here so take a look if your interested! I'm looking for £100 delivered. I'm in the uk and can conveniently and quickly post to uk addresses. Game is brand new and sealed - mint condition for any board game collector. It's also pretty rare as it seems it's got a few issues that means nobody sells it! From what I've read from googling it I think monopoly wernt too happy with the name, it's considered racist and it seems to reference crime and illegal activity a lot. You can do some research yourself if you need to know more! Paypal & u.k only please. Thanks for looking and if you know how I can remove my incorrectly posted auction please let ne know!

Note the 3% commission cost on bgg

(£100 delivered is a little high IMO - 50-75 is more realistic, for a quick sale)

Hi. I noticed the 3% fee thanks. I'm happy to pay that as it's 7% less than eBay!

Regarding the price your probably right, I would gladly accept £75 for it. Seems they are available on amazon for £100.

'Available for' and 'selling for' are different variables

It's worth more in the US than it is in the UK.

If you're willing to take £75 and want a quick sale I'd say so on your add. If you're copy is mint, in shrink and you have the time to wait, hang on it will retain its value fine.

I feel like this item's price is so hyped that no-one is buying or successfully selling - even speculators can't be sure what the market value is on it.

(I say this as someone who will shortly be selling a new but not in shrink copy on behalf of a local charity shop - it's sitting on the living room table as we speak.)

Would it sell @ £50 do you think? I can't really see anyone paying that much for it myself.... Got a bit excited when I saw them for sale for £100's but realistically I don't think anyone's going to buy it at that price. Seems it's rare but not all that popular?

How does the marketplace work on here exactly? I've had a little look round but I can't seem to find a complete explanation of the process.

I submit an ad - someone clicks buy - then what? Do we then communicate to sort out payment & delivery? How do they know my paypal to pay in?

Generally they get in touch with you via geekmail. Asking certain questions. Then when both parties are happy they formalise the process by clicking 'buy', this generates the next window - including a payment to BGG request.

Everything is sorted out via communicating with the buyer via geekmail, so its a fairly decentralised informal process.

Ultimately BGG is not as good as Amazon or Ebay, when it comes to selling low traffic items. £50 would be a very good price to get it for as I suspect it will grow in value.

The problem with your item is that it is a rubbish game and so you are looking for the uniformed, folk that like the theme or Monopoly collectors - neither of which do I consider BGG to be ideal for. My advice if you want to sell it quick use a auction site, otherwise £75 mint on BGG slide it under the bed and wait. You can pair your Geekmail with an external email account via settings under geekmail.
