March 2012 will go down as the warmest March in the United States since record-keeping began in 1895, NOAA said Monday.
In addition, the three-month period of January, February and March was the warmest first quarter ever recorded in the Lower 48 states. The average was 42 degrees Fahrenheit, a whopping 6 degrees above the long-term average.

Cleveland's March was about 1.5 °F warmer than its average April. Would sure like this trend to reverse before July comes along.

Natural Gas prices are bottoming out and storage is at capacity due in part to the very mild winter and record production. The producers are going to have to start cutting back as they have no more room to store it and no one is buying the stuff.

Why are we talking about weather in RSP? I thought that was verboten.

Another interesting note - MArch is normally Denver's snowiest month and we got a grand total of .....0 inches of snow. Foothills are already bone dry.

Yeah, but that's weather, not climate. Hell, a month earlier Denver had snowfall so deep it shattered a 103 year old record. You people... is nobody ever happy?

Quote:
The three-day storm, which dumped a total of 15.9 inches of snow in Denver, also broke the 100-year-old record for most snowfall in a three-day period in February. The previous record was 14.11 inches set in 1912.

A warming planet results in more energy and water vapor in the environment resulting in more extremes of weather and more eratic weather.

If you want to say something, just say it. Please don't attribute to me something I didn't say.

Sure... just go ahead and take away the only arguments they have. How rude of you.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't actually trying to attribute something to you that you didn't say. Typically "FTFY" is done sarcastically. It's a bit of an internet meme.

I'm a little happy. Minneapolis had three 80+ degree days in March, along with a number of 70+ degree days. I hate to admit it, but global warming doesn't seem to be so bad for Minnesotans.

I hear ya. Oh, and the official name is now "climate change" because the old GW doesn't account for shit like colder winters etc. that the Aussies are currently bitching about.

It's been my contention all along that a little longer summers and a little milder winters aren't so bad. And I'm not a beach person and live pretty far inland so it isn't as if it'll matter to me if Miami goes under or not.

Oh, I know - but it was interesting data point. Spring is about 1 month early hear. Last year - it was late. 1 year a trend does not make....
