Re: A new name for the game - win a free game.
I think you should keep it as is. But failing that, another vote for #3.

Re: A new name for the game - win a free game.
Since you're looking for a new name, might I suggest 'Race for the Galaxy'? It's got a nice ring to it, which might help boost sales.

If I have to pick from those three, however, I would go with #3.

There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and the dark of night, and if you go no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone. Ripple in still water, when there is no pebble tossed, nor wind to blow.

To seek the sacred river Alph, to walk the caves of ice, to break my fast on honey dew and drink the milk of paradise... I had heard the whispered tales of immortality, the deepest mystery, from an ancient book I took a clue.

I like the original name but, if you're going to change it, then #3 - KOSMONAUTS gets my vote.

Re: A new name for the game - win a free game.
Do I still go into the draw with a NULL vote?

#1 sounds really stupid if the final letter is read as a Latin "C".
#2 is lame, like a bad children's game from the 1960s or 70s. I think English speakers would expect "cosmos" to take the adjectival form "cosmic" even if "space" doesn't change when forming "space race".
#3 is the least objectionable of those three but I still don't think it's very good considering I'd expect the game to be about the CCCP.
All of them are better than writing it purely in Cyrillic for non-Cyrillic readers.

Since there is already a game called COSMOS why not KOSMOS?
That way you get to keep the initial letter with its curly upper member but you make its English pronunciation clear.

Since you were willing to use Cyrillic why not Greek κόσμος?
Or even creatively mix alphabets: κοςmος and put final ς where there should be initial-medial σ? You could even spell it kosmos but use a typeface that looked like κοςmος for the packaging, forgetting about diacritical marks. Admittedly, you probably wanted to use Cyrllic rather than Greek for its space association and the only thing rocketing in Greece recently has been the national debt.

The designers are Russian and this is about the Space Race - so thinking of CCCP would be about right.

Seems very fitting. Though I loved the original name.

#1 KOSMOC

Far more intriguing than propositions 2 and 3. And we still can guess it's about space/cosmos.
