Hey all.

So for this 2nd poll, I'd like beginners and experienced players alike to tell us what they found the most difficult part about learning netrunner. Was it rules? Was it learning cards?

Was it anatomy of a run? Timing issues? Let us know!

I'm hoping to start a new series soon, but looking for ideas.

Hi guys. SO I'm sneaking in this post at work....sneaky sneaky! Don't have a lotta time, but I wanted to get a feel for why people got interested in netrunner, and what really hooked them about it.

I think the key to hooking a beginner is recognising what that person likes, and really emphasising that part of the game, at least at first. If someone loves the theme, then pointing out all the rich thematic elements of the cards and art really hooks them. If someone is a rules junky, then pointing out all the little intricacies can get them really excited.

Reading the beginner is key to making them a player for life. So what got you into Netrunner and what keeps you coming back for more??

Hello all.

Some people who come to my blog regularly may have noticed the significant decline in productivity recently....

My work has become super busy, and I just can't find the time to devote to blogging and video-making that I used to have.

SO for now, Easy Mark will be going on a sabbatical. I will continue to post when I can.

Thank you all for visiting and reading and contributing to the content.

Hi guys. SO this series will focus on looking at decklists of the finalists, and seeing how they changed from the beginning of the tournament, to the final match.

We will start with the winner, Hotsaucewally. Here's the decklist at the beginning of the tournament for his runner:

hotsaucewally (45 cards)

Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie

Event (20)
3 Account Siphon
3 Demolition Run ••••• •
2 Easy Mark
2 Emergency Shutdown
2 Forged Activation Orders
3 Inside Job
2 Special Order
3 Sure Gamble

Hardware (8)
3 Desperado
2 Plascrete Carapace
3 R&D Interface ••••• •

Resource (11)
2 Bank Job
3 Compromised Employee
2 Decoy
2 Kati Jones
2 Mr. Li

Icebreaker (4)
1 Corroder ••
2 Crypsis
1 Yog.0

Program (2)
2 Sneakdoor Beta

Built with http://netrunner.meteor.com/

After a match, he changed it to this:

hotsaucewally (45 cards)

Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie

Event (19)
3 Account Siphon
2 Demolition Run ••••
3 Emergency Shutdown
3 Forged Activation Orders
3 Inside Job
2 Special Order
3 Sure Gamble

Hardware (8)
3 Desperado
2 Plascrete Carapace
3 R&D Interface ••••• •

Resource (12)
2 Bank Job
3 Compromised Employee
2 Decoy
3 Kati Jones
2 Mr. Li

Icebreaker (4)
1 Corroder ••
2 Crypsis
1 Gordian Blade •••

Program (2)
2 Sneakdoor Beta

Built with http://netrunner.meteor.com/

Basically, replaced Yog with Gordian, got rid of 2 easy marks for one extra Kati. Added a Forged Activation and Emergency Shutdown to replace a demo run.

His deck didn't change after that, and was the winning runner deck.

Finally, we are here. After a strong group stage and tight elimination round, we got to the final matchup between Bioroid86 and Hotsaucewally.

Here's the video. Both games in one.

Game 2 starts at: 37:40 approx

Interviews start at: 1:27:00 approx

Spoiler (click to reveal)
Congratulations to Hotsaucewally! Pulling out the wins by his teeth in both games.

Thank you so much for everyone that took part. I hope everyone learned at least one thing. At the very least, hopefully it introduced the players to new people and new partners.

In my blog over next couple weeks, I'm going to be starting a debrief series, looking at the decklists of some of the players, and how they changed as the tournament went forward. Might be insightful.

Netrunner Scenarios - Scenario 7

D Tse
Canada
Ottawa

mbmbmbmbmb
Ok. Here's the next mulligan scenario. I think if you play Andromeda as a new player, you are excited, yet also a bit lost when you face 9 cards in your opening hand. Given the fact that with a 45 card deck, you start with 20% of your deck in your hand at the start, its pretty good chance that you have a good starting hand. But, you there are still good and bad opening hands for andromeda too. Also, I think who you are playing will influence your choice of hand.

The choice on your first turn is always do i run? or do I get rid of cards and not have to discard…and that choice depends on what corp does and what your hand is…so….

Scenario 7

You are playing Andromeda, a fixed breakers data sucker type deck

You are playing against Jinteki: Personal Evolution

They did NOT mulligan. Here's your opening hand:

Corroder

infiltration

daily cast

Mr Li

inside job x2

emergency shutdown

Yog.0

forged activation orders

Mulligan or not? and why?

What if you were playing Weyland: Building a Better World that did not mulligan? would your decision change?
