The minis are seemingly piling up right now, which is a good problem to have I think. I am nearing the end of a couple of projects though, which is good because the new projects are pushing their way to the table.
I finished up Dracula for Fury of Dracula.
There is one more hunter to be painted I believe, but I just received another set that I am cleaning and priming right now.
My Warhammer Wood Elf army now has a classic BSB to lead it into battle.
I really like the totem style banner.
Another Flagellant joins the ranks of my Empire horde.
I am not sure if his hair is too bright for me. I might mute it a tad.
Picked up this promo mini at Gen Con last year and finally got some paint on it.
I thought the sculpt looked pretty cool at first, but after painting it I fell that it is probably my least favorite sculpt of all that I have painted.
War of the Ring Rohan Leaders
Nearly all the heroes and leaders are painted now.
I started up a Runewars Heroes commission recently.
Steelhorns was one of the first heroes to get painted.

With the new Empire book I have had my interest in painting all my Empire models rekindled.
I finally finished one full rank of Flagellants
Only 20 to go
Here is a close up of number 10
I am really liking paining these guys. They were a ton of fun to put together with all the different bits and bobs. As well as characterful poses and heads. I kit bashed in a few odds and ends from other kits I had laying around as well.
Finished up my Bane Beast stand in for a Treeman Ancient.
He is a really cool model and got a chance to get him to the table last night. My friend played him against my Lizardmen and he got cut down by my Saurus, but not before he took out like a dozen saurus

I have been working sprinkling in some Fury of Dracula minis and have a few of them done now. Here is Dr. Seward:
Still cranking through Talisman minis. Here is the Magus:
I finally finished up my Leviticus crew. The final piece was this Steampunk Abomination:
Here is the whole crew together:
This could be my favorite Steampunk Abomination with only half a head and some bottom teeth:
Probably my second favorite Abomination:
I just started up a Runewars commission and really like how One fist turned out. Especially his face.
Also, have been working on some of my Warhammer armies. I really want to make my Lizardmen army look better and am working on some new Saurus spears to make the unit more dynamic.
This guy from Bane Beasts is a pretty gorgeous model. I hope that when I am finished I do him justice. He has been kind of a pain so far with so many nooks and crannies for my brush to miss
I have 9 flagellants finished so almost one rank of 10. Only 21 to go
The War of the Rings minis are still coming together as well.

I haven't been updating this near as much as I want to. The last time I was working on it, I ended up losing everything I had done and didn't have the heart to restart. I finally built up the fortitude to get back at it.
I have also been busy with a new podcasting venture. My freind Jeff and I decided to start one. You can check it out at www.allusgeeks.com. We cover all things geeky with an emphasis on tabletop games.
Since the last update I finished 2 more Earth Reborn sets.
I have another set on the way and am looking forward to getting another one of these under my belt. Pretty soon I will be able to paint them in my sleep.
Besides my commission work I have been trying to get some of my Warhammer models painted. With the announcement of the new Empire book I have had a renewed vigor to paint my Empire models, but I want to keep working on my Lizardmen and Wood Elves too.
I did a couple of weapon conversions for my Lizardmen army on a couple of Kroxigor. I am thinking of taking these guys to Blood in the Sun in July.
I also want to make my Saurus units a bit more dynamic so will be doing some models in different poses like this.
The start of a Flagellant unit.
A Wood Elf Treeman
He was a pain to put together, but painted up really nicely.
Back on the commission side of things I painted an Isla Dorada set, but I still haven't taken a group shot.
I am also working on a War of the Ring commission, but it is basically just the heroes.
Malifaux minis keep calling my name too. I want to get my second crew completed so I can have two painted crews for demoing and such. Leviticus
Hollow Waifs
Another commission I am doing is for Talisman.
These models are all over the board scale wise. Also the quality of the sculpt varies quite a bit. Some of them are painting up pretty nice and easy and some are like polishing a turd.
I will try to update more frequently in the future.

Brother Gehrinn from Dungeonquest.
This mini had a lot of cool detail on the artwork on his card that must have been to difficult to sculpt or cast, which is unfortunate as his one arm and half his face is kind of burned or something which I tried to replicate with coloration, but it would have been cool it it was sculpted as well.
James Woo from Earth Reborn
This guy has a pretty simple color scheme, but I like how he looks.
Zombies from Earth Reborn
These zombies aren't as easy to paint as some zombies I have painted. They metal braces on their legs and such are a little bit of a pain.
N. Bolter from Earth Reborn
I really like the way this model turned out. I think all of the tones are pretty spot on to the card and just work together well.
I finished the set of Earth Reborn that I was painting for the Jack Vasal auction.
I had a really hard time taking good pictures of these ships and I don't know why I finished the whole set though and I think they ended up turning out pretty cool.

I have been working on a few new projects for a returning client. One of these projects is Dungeonquest.
I like the way this guys colors came out. The tatts seem to add a neat bit of contrasting color with the orange hair. I was trying to give him that orangish tint without it getting crazy bright and overpowering.
The Eclipse set is coming along as well. I finished priming the last fleet last night.
I just have to finish the zombies for the Earth Reborn set that I am painting for the Jack Vasal auction.
Monica is a bit of apain to paint with her gun and arms across her body like that. It is hard to see in the nooks and crannies and fit a brush in there at the same time.
I had a client say this is the best Mammoth he has seen on BGG. I like to hear that
Blonde hair is always interesting. I always find it a challenge to keep it from being too yellowy. This photo makes it look more yellowy than it is, as I believe I got it almost right on the model.
My personal project of getting 1000 pts of Empire painted for my friend to play at Da Snotling 1000 also got completed.
I am pretty happy with the way that unit turned out.
This banner seems like it could use something else. I am not sure what though??? Any ideas?
I was thinking about going back to the sun with some other shades of yellow. Any thoughts?
The Arch Lector of pain! Da Snotling 1000 was a ton of fun. I went 3-1 and my friend who played my Empire went 2-2. Here is a link to a battle report from the event. http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/771190/da-snotling-1000-tour...
I also got a couple of painting awards at Con of the North
My Kroxigors got first in Fatasy Unit and my Engine of the Gods got first in open!

I have now Completed the Dungeon Run set in plenty of time for Con of the North next weekend.
The Vessel
Emma
Dorgan
Vallgard
Vargag
Stabbins
Birodin
The Obligatory Group Shot
I have also finished the rest of the Runebound minis since the last update.
Ciridin
Kael
Group shot of the finished Runebound minis
Group shot of the finished Doom minis
I am done constructing all of the Eclipse ships now and have started painting them.
The Planta ships
My next personal project is some Warhammer miniatures that I need to get done for Da Snotling 1000. One of my friends wants to go to his first ever Warhammer tournament, but doesn't have his own army yet, so I am completing 1000 pts of Empire for him.
Engineer to stand in as a mortar crew member
The Imperial Great Cannon
The Imperial Mortar
Last month I went to Waaagh Paca! which is my favorite Warhammer tourney and a must attend each year. This year my friend Nicol won the sweet demon prince crown that is around his neck for best overall, and our club the Twisted Troop won best the Heine-Hammer for best club.
Here is a link to a tourney report: http://videogamegeek.com/article/8387167#8387167
What will be coming up next. More Eclipse Ships More Earth Reborn Models Talisman Models

I finally finished the Doom project and soon they will be flying back to their home in Europe

Cacodemons
Had to get a close up of this guy
I am not a real big fan of these models, but they painted up alright. I used a gloss clear coat on the insect like parts to make them shine a bit, but id doesn't show up real well in the photo.
And these guys are kind of the big deal of the project. The super-baddies, the Cyberdemons.
I almost have all the Runebound figures done now too. Here are the latest from Midnight.
One new project I am working on are converting some ships for a client for Eclipse.
The other new project is a personal one. I want to get my Dungeon Run Minis done for Con of the North. I am also going to run it tomorrow at the RGC Miniatures Game Day in Rochester MN.
The minis are pretty detailed for a board game, but the plastic is super squishy and some model awkwardness is more noticeable when you start poking into all the nooks and crannies with a brush.

Lately besides my commission work I have been prepping my Lizardmen for Waaagh Paca!
This Chameleon Skink may not end up getting used as I think I changed my list to not need him now.
I rebased my bane stone on a 50mm base to be an objective marker as it was necessary to bring one to the event.
I thought it would be fun to take Tetto Eko to a tournament, so I used my Engine of the Gods to make a Palanquin of the Constellations.
Doom has been getting a lot of time on the painting table lately. I am painting this set for another member of BGG and should be able to return them to him soon.
The zombies paint up pretty well.
The revenants are pretty nice models, especially for a board game. The devlan mud really makes these guys pop.
The manucbus is a bit on the blah side as far as models go, but I like their guns.
I am done with all of the Runebound minis for this customer, except for the Midnight ones which I will start soon.
Mad Carthos was the last on the table.
I am still plugging away on the Earth Reborn minis that I am painting for the Jack Vasal auction.
Jack Saw looks like a bloody maniac.

I haven't updated my painting blog in a while mostly due to an unfortunate event. I spent about a week in the hospital with my wife where she gave birth to our daughter, which was to be a joyous occasion except for the fact that she came way too early. The doctors were hoping to be able to perform an operation to keep the baby in for at least a few more weeks, but her water broke before they could do it and Kimberly Hope was born on at just over 20 weeks into the pregnancy.
The doctors at the Mayo Clinic said that at 20 weeks the baby's lungs are not developed enough for them to be able to help them. They said we needed a minimum of three more weeks, but five would have got us to a place where they would have felt a lot better about her chances of survival. That being sad mother is physically healed now, but Kimberly only lived for 24 minutes.
After we got home I didn't feel like painting right away, but eventually I picked the brush back up and now I feel that it is somewhat therapeutic.
Sorry, for the down note, but if anyone actually follows this I thought they may have wondered where I went.
Here is some of what I have completed since the last update.
Sahla from Sands of Al Kalim. He was painted for a fellow BGG member. I am almost done with pretty much all of the Runebound minis for him.
Corbin from the Sands of Al Kalim. The owner of this mini gave me a great compliment by saying he looked like he just walked right out of The Lord of the Rings.
This Engine of the Gods for Warhammer was painted for my own Lizardmen army.
Jeff Deeler from Earth Reborn was painted as part of my contribution to the Jack Vasal auction.
Cherokee Bill from Earth Reborn was painted as part of my contribution to the Jack Vasal auction. I was especially happy with the way his face turned out.
James Woo from Earth Reborn was painted as part of my contribution to the Jack Vasal auction. I had some fun making some colored metallic paint on him.
I received this mini (Malifaux Desolation Engine) from a friend for my birthday and figured I better get it painted up so he could see it before he relocates for his new job.
