Painted two schemes on the Nexu to differentiate the elite and the regular. 8 of them finished in total.

Also finished these four Fenns

He might be my favorite hero in the way of looks. I like the way the rebel symbol turned out on his uniform and his overall color scheme.

Sneak peak at some of one of the expansion minis.

Glad we got a sneak peak of him in the trailer too

Hopefully I will have these sets finished this week. Just working on the AT-STs now.

Got some more Imperial Assault work done this week.

Diala

Really like the contrast of the purple skintones on the natural tones of her clothing

Gaaarkhan

Since his color palette was a bit limited I tried to get a lot of brown tones in his fur.

Trandoshan Hunters

Decided to go with red shirts for the elites. Got 16 of these guys painted this week.

General Weiss WiP

I decieded to use the spare parts in the box to add an open hatch to the model, as it seemed a bit silly to just having him sticking out of the top with no hatch door.

Not a lot of images this week. I am working hard on finishing up the Imperial Assault minis. I have 16 Trandoshan Hunters almost done and Diala just needs a few finishing touches and the rest of the minis are in some state of work in progress.

I did get this image from the Gunship owner. He had access to a vinyl cutter and ended up using it to make the final markings and mounted it on a Litko flight stand. I think it turned out really cool.

Should have a lot of Imperial Assault minis to show off next week.

Adepticon!

So this week I am late posting because I was at Adepticon all weekend. It was a great time with lots of cool painted minis for tons of different games.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of pics from the event as my camera isn't working well, but hopefully I will get a new one soon.

I started off Thursday playing in two 1k tourney, and I did pretty well with my Lizardmen going 2 and 1. My afternoon was not as good with my Empire going 0-2-1.

Friday was the team tourney where my I teamed up with Ryan Nicol to run a boar themed army of Warriors of Chaos and Orcs and Goblins. It was a lot of fun and I think our armies looked really pretty, but they did not perform well. We knew we were taking a lot softer lists than we had the year before when we got third, but expected to do better than 0 and 3 I think the list wasn't that bad, but we had some terrible luck. Nicol couldn't roll a re-rollable 8 leadership test ever

Saturday I played in the Wild West Exodus Gunslinger. I went 2 and 1 and got 3rd overall.

On Sunday I finished out the weekend with a little 7 wonders tourney. I think I got 3rd or 4th in it, can't remember for sure.

It was a great weekend and I can't wait to go back next year!

I did get a few Imperial Assault minis finished this week too.

I think the different colored optical sensors should work out well.

Hopefully I will have the storm troopers done soon. They have been bogging me down pretty well lately.

Still plugging away on Imperial Assault.

Did green naval officer uniform for the elite officer and then did the black Stormtrooper style uniform on the regulars with a slight tweak of their lapel hardware to differentiate them.

Finished up this cool Hero Forge custom model too.

Started some Tattoos on the Savage Orc Boar Boys

Finished another Iron Horse for my Outlaws

Finished the Royal guards this week.

I think the two shades of red to differentiate the elites and regulars worked out pretty well. I alsod used a gloss on the helmets to help them look shinier than the cloth of the robes.

The Bothans and Probe Droids are getting close to finished.

I finished off my Close Combat Bandits for Wild West Exodus as well.

Just need to finish Frank, Apache, The Doomsday and an Iron Horse to have my Outlaws ready for Adepticon.

I got a game of WWX in today as well and my Outlaws triumphed over the Lawmen once again!

Da Snotling 2015

mbmbmbmbmb
Yesterday was Da Snotling 2015 in La Crosse, WI. It is a 1000 pt Warhammer tournament and this year it had some interesting rules. There were no percentage restrictions, just couldn't duplicate rares and couldn't have more than two of any special choice.

I ultimately decided upon this list.

Slann
Wandering Deliberations
Resevoir of Eldritch Energy
Harmonic Convergence
Soul of Stone
BSB
Standard of Discipline
Channeling Staff

Skink Cohort x10
Champion
musician
standard bearer

Skink Cohort x10
Champion
musician
standard bearer

Temple Guard x25
Revered Guardian
standard bearer
musician

Round 1

I played a near mirror match. His Slann was kitted exactly the same, but was bunkered in saurus instead of Temple Guard and he had two Bastiladons instead of the skink cohorts. Bastiladons are probably overall going to be more effective, but in this scenario it meant he only had one scoring unit to my three. I ended up taking out his Bastilodons with Searing Dooms and got into combat with his block of sarus. They slapped each other all game and at the end of the game all three of my units were on his side of the board and he had 0 on my side.

Round 1 full 4 pt win to me.

Round 2

I played Adam Trunzo's Skaven. This game was about choosing three units to be soring and putting them within 12 inches of the center of the board. At the end of each round you got a point for each one that was there. I got first turn and tried to six dice a boosted fireball to take out one or two of his Storm Fiends.

Unfortunately I rolled this:

Two points shy of getting the spell off

This meant he was able to shoot off my Skinks with his storm fiends on his first turn. He rolled 39 shots with his 3 fiends I did get a fireball off second turn, but only killed one and he got 28 shots on my temple guard with just 2 storm fiends. Basically his dice were hot and mine were not He blew up his warp lightning cannon and shot off the rest of my army.

0 pts for me round two, so sitting at 4 pts overall.

Round 3

I got to Jerrod Horstman. A really fun guy and a really good painter. His Eternity King list was a big Dragon Prince bus with characters, a unit of Warlocks and a bolt thrower. The goal of this one was to kill the general, the highest point unit and the second highest point unit.

Highlights of this game was my Slann being a boss and defeating his Dark Elf Master in a challenge He ended up getting my highest and second highest unit, but failed to get my general, while I got all of his targets.

This made for a 3 point victory for me. So sitting at 7 points overall at the end of round 3.

Round 4

I failed to take any pictures of this match, but it was against Brettonians and was breaking point. I whittled one knight bus unit down with a couple of searing dooms, but then they both came into my temple guard block. That combat went several rounds before the temple guard finally broke the two units which lost him all of his banners and won me the game as my skinks had just taken out a unit of peasants with a banner in close combat.

I got the full 4 pts for this match and finished the tourney with 11 pts overall. I wasn't sure what my paint or sports points were but I was hoping they were decent and that I had placed pretty high. I didn't really expect it, but it turned out I won Best Overall!!!

I got a sweet box of Snotling treasure and the amazing Glottkin model for my award!

One of my friends that traveled with my picked up Best Sports as well which got him 15 dollars in store credit.

As far as painting this week I finished up some more Imperial Assault minis.

Worked on distinguishing the Royal Guard Elite and Regulars with a couple shades of red.

I finished a TNT trap for my Adepticon Wild West Exodus list.

Worked on some base coats for a Gunship.

Also got a little more work done on my boar army for the Adepticon Team Tourney.
