Even more games are making the analog-to-digital conversion, but I would never have expected to see the video included below:

Tasty Minstrel Games is organizing "Eminent Domain Preview Nights", a program for brick-and-mortar retailers to receive the game ahead of regular distribution (but after Kickstarter supporters) in order to hold special showings of the game. For details on how to get your retailer to participate – and for a chance to win a games bundle for getting that retailer involved – read TMG's March 2011 newsletter.

John Yianni's Army of Frogs will be released as an iOS app by Big Daddy's Creations in May 2011. Head to the app developer's website for screenshots of the design in progress.

• On a related note, Big Daddy's Creations has a Caylus app in the works for release in September 2011. The developer's Caylus page has little for show now other than the promise of an app to come.

• Issue #17 of Świat Gier Planszowych will include a unique, new card for 51st State, according to designer Ignacy Trzewiczek.

Lookout Games has announced that starting in mid-March 2011 a new edition of Agricola will be available. The only changes to the content will be revisions to two cards, which will later be available for download through the Lookout Games website and "probably" available as promo cards at Spiel. Other cards have had their text revised by designer Uwe Rosenberg to remove anything unclear, and the bulky fence pieces will be replaced by thinner ones.

• Hydravision has unveiled a video promo of Dungeon Twister: The Video Game, which is coming for Xbox LIVE and Playstation 3. As one might expect from Renaissance man Christophe Boelinger, the DT designer has both composed and arranged music for the video, in addition to choreographing the characters' dance moves. That's right – dance moves. You probably never thought the Mechanork could bust a move like this.

• For those who lack the budget of a Hydravision, designer Jay Cormier explains the bargain basement approach used for the homemade Train of Thought commercial.

• The annual UK Games Expo, which takes place June 3-5, 2011, has been updating its list of games that will be new for the show, some of which will debut at the convention and some of which are merely new since the previous Games Expo.

• Stephane at 5 Minutos por Jeugo has compiled a video summary of the Cannes 2011 game festival, complete with disturbing pop music accompaniment.

Glad it's coming to XBLA!

For Eminent Domain Preview Nights, retailers will receive their preview copies significantly prior to the main shipment arriving in the USA. I estimate 4-6 weeks early.

Then they can take pre-orders which will be sent to them just after the Kickstarter orders are filled.

That better be the best video game ever made if they have that much time to waste. How could such a great board game have any affiliation with such an obnoxious video? Does not compute- similar to Charlie Sheen.

That Dungeon Twister video was awful on so many levels.

Its primary fault is that it shows zero gameplay while actually showcasing something that, based on the game's name, would lead a person unfamiliar with DT (honestly, probably 95%+ of XBLA audience) to suspect that it was some sort of rhythm/music/dancing game with a fantasy flavor. That is very bad marketing, very, very bad.

Other levels of awful include: "this is what they spent part of their budget on?", "that song's so bad it's bad", "who are they pitching this game to--a game as cerebral and planned as DT has to be pitched at board gamers and puzzle gamers", and "why am I seeing this as news now when the copyright says 2009?"

Errmm... Surely that very good marketing? Release a promo that will appeal to "95%+" of XBLA audience, rather than one that will only appeal to 5% sounds like the marketing team are doing a grand job to me.

I'll concede it's somewhat misleading, but come on now - these are advertisements - they're not supposed to be true refelctions!!

Isn't DDR passe now, with the Kinect and Move out?

Doesn't help that the DDR series didn't make the jump from PS2 to PS3 until last year...and the PS3 version has fewer songs than any of the PS2 releases...

Thanks, fixed. I studied Russian for a few years, but that was decades ago and I'm no longer the keen spotter of Slavic language declensions that I used to be.

Okay, I'll admit it. I was never a keen spotter of Slavic language declensions. One of many crosses I've had to bear in my life.

I didn't say that that trailer would appeal to 95% of XBLA users, just that 95% of XBLA users probably don't know what DT is. My point is that a video like this will do nothing to change that and will actually harm the game because 1: people who might be interested in a game like DT probably won't be enticed by a video like this, and 2: people who might be interested in a game as depicted in this video probably won't be enticed by a game like DT.

Of course, this is all opinion, but my view is that in order to sell a video game product you should know your target audience a little better and you should do a better job of informing them what your product actually is. I am a member of this game's target audience and if I didn't already know what DT was, this trailer would not only do nothing to inspire my interest, it would actually leave me with a negative and incorrect view of what this game has to offer.

It's also important to note that Dungeon Twister has a bit of a poor name in English (originally a French product) that sounds too similar to the game Twister. I remember trying to order a set at a Barnes & Noble store and the clerk gave me this look, "Dungeon Twister?" The connotations were obvious, "You're an adult, buying a kids' contortion game with a dungeon theme?" D&D and fantasy already have an awful rap as nerd hobbies played in basements by sweaty, outcast teens and strange, misfit adults, add to that the stigma of "naked twister games" from, what was it, the 80's, the 90's? Anybody remember those sensationalist news reports, or am I going senile? I actually hadn't thought of the game's name in those terms until that experience, so maybe I'm off base on this, but I do think the name carries a bit of (undeserved) stigma.
