Among the best things in life is playing printed games in person with family and close friends. When those are not convenient we like iOS Board Games.

• Neuroshima Hex Gets Two New Armies And More - May 24 As first reported in this blog, Big Daddy's Creations has introduced two new armies, New York and Neojungle, as in-app purchases in version 1.30 of its flagship app Neuroshima Hex. To celebrate, Big Daddy's has also dropped the prices on both Neuroshima Hex apps by $2 each. The expansion armies can be purchased at an introductory promotional price of $0.99 each. The new version of the app also includes:

• Prose with Bros Update - May 24 The goofy refrigerator magnet game, Prose with Bros, that we first posted about a month ago has received an update that adds 300 additional words. We weren't the only ones to notice how easily this novel async app idea quickly devolved into lurid and lame sexual innuendos. But hey, it's the Intarwebs, right? Here's hoping that the addition of 300 words dilutes the pool and provides a wider variety of interesting possibilities. Version 1.0.2 includes the following:

What's new
NEW WORD PACK! - 300 new words to add to the vocabulary.
Making sentences: - Tweaked the sentence creation so that it's easier to move words around when making a sentence (so they don't get stuck).
• Reiner Knizia's Poison Update - May 24 Has it really been 25 months since the release of Reiner Knizia's Poison? This may be Dr. Knizia's oldest app, as I do believe it was his first. And what's more, it has never been updated from version 1.0 and never had a price change! Pretty amazing and a pretty good app.
For those of you playing Reiner Knizia's Poison on iPhone, we've got a nice updated version of that coming out with some goodies for Dungeon Solitaire players, namely a code for a new free expansion!
It'll have retina graphics, a new 3-player mode, play-your-own music, and some miscellaneous bug fixes. If we continue to get support and sales on the title, we'll look at doing an iPad version with pass-and-play. We should be in submission at Apple in the next day or two.
Perhaps, now is the time to check it out if you haven't before.
• Space Alert Mission Generator Updated to Version 1.2 - May 25 Play Again Games has updated their print board game aid app, Space Alert Mission Generator. These updates to version 1.2 look pretty important:

Fixed timer problem after aborted missions.
Moved play button to the right, making accidental abort less likely.
• Dixit Release Update - May 26 And finally we leave you with this exclusive news about the upcoming party game favorite and soon to be iOS board game app, Dixit. According to our sources at Toboco, Dixit for iOS has experienced development delays due to the removal of a networked bluetooth mode that required the development of a new module. You can read more about it at Toboco's site. The app is currently being reviewed by Apple. Toboco expects it to be released in the App store soon, as in only a matter of days! The App will be available in English, German, and Spanish.
There already exist a mission generator for space alert? There goes my app idea out of the window. Why do I only learn of this now? I'm guessing it's also not compatible with the expansion which I've just bought.
In life you have to do a lot of things you don't fucking want to do. Many times, that's what the fuck life is... one vile fucking task after another.
There is already an app called 'dixit' in the app store (and has nothing to do with the party game, from what I can tell).
Is this app going to be called 'dixit'? Not sure how naming in the app store works (can 2 apps have the same name?), but I want to be searching for the correct name when it comes out.
What I really want to see is a price drop on NH Hex to coincide with the new armies. (NH Puzzle and TtR have kept me busy enough that I haven't bought it yet).

NH was on sale yesterday for $2.99, not sure if it still is.

Indeed they did drop the price on both Neuroshima Hex apps. Still dropped.

Thanks, just purchased. It's my wife's iPad, and I know she's got it on AppShopper, so she must have conveniently forgotten to tell me about the price drop email she undoubtedly received.
Busy at Kubla Con this past weekend, so I didn't see the new NH Armies announcement until today. Sadly, the discount is gone and the new armies are $1.99 EACH! a bit steep... I was willing to buy them for $0.99, even $0.99 EACH, but another $4 is a lot...
I like Dixit, but I can't imagine playing it anything but face-to-face!
Yeah, this one seems kind of weird. Dixit!! I can't imagine that one working well.
Actually, most of the time I play Dixit it is in a light, family gamer situation where I don't feel like I give or get the best clues. I think with access to a wide array of gamers, this game could be extremely interesting on-line. Players would have time to think of really crazy and interesting clues, and creativity may be far higher than in person. Of course, it could be totally lame too...
