I want to thank The German Boardgame Company (a Canadian online retailer) and Z-man Games for standing behind their product, and offering to send me a replacement for my damaged copy of Luna.

I spoke with Zev several times, and he was unable to replace all of the damaged pieces in my copy (he did try). Apparently, this print run from Z-man has sold out, and will not be reprinted. So, he sent me what he could. Unfortuneately, it did not cover all of my damaged pieces.

So, Sean at The German Boardgame Company ensured me that one way or another, I would get a new copy of the game. I appreciate when a retailer will step in and fix a problem that wasn't their fault.

Zev and Sean talked, and worked it out. My new copy will be sent today.

I've made a lot of orders from The German Boardgame Company, and never had a problem before. I've also bought a lot of Z-man games without a problem. So, I have to assume that this was a fluke. I hope that this has helped to bring to Zev's attention any quality control issues that exist at Z-man.

Now, I can look forward to trying this game, and seeing if it was worth all of this hassle... and hope that when I get my hands on Macao and Castles of Burgundy (the next 2 Feld games I want), that it goes smoother.

Thanks for reading.

From what I was told, the printer went under. So, this looks like the end of this Zman edition. I'm guessing Hall still has it, and Zman could do a second edition. But, it didn't sound like that was the plan.

The German Boardgame Company has a couple left in stock.

I've had a couple small issues with two Z-man Games and Zev replied back to me within minutes. Telling me no problem I'll fix. New parts in the mail later that week. I'm very happy within Zev and Z-man games. Nothing but great thing to say about the service Thanks Zev.

In the UK the shop is legally responsible (Sale Of Goods Act 1979) and must offer replacement or refund on faulty goods or those goods not fit for purpose (unless described as such at the time of sale).

Now in reality it is quicker to talk to the publisher and get replacement bits if a piece is missing and it is what I would do. However in the case where the contents are extremely damaged and the game is unplayable I would have no problem asking the shop to give me a replacement.

It's good to see a retailer willing to step up and go above and beyond to help you out. Major kudos to them for doing that for you.thumbsup

It would be unfortunate in Luna doesn't get a reprint because it was generally regarded as a very solid game from many of the reviews and comments I've read about the game.
