I played couple of quick games of Africa last weekend. Africa's one of the first games I ordered from Germany when I started getting that deep in the board game hobby, back in 2003 or so (I think Age of Steam was in the same order).

It's a great game, for a quick two-player filler at least. Too bad the box suggests a much bigger game. Someone should repackage it like the filler the game is.

Anyway, after the games were over, I started playing with my camera and found this lovely backlit angle. The light was low anyway and shooting directly against the light was the only way to get decent shutter speeds and reasonable ISOs.

I came up with couple of composition possibilities, all playing on the backlit black-and-white (turned proper black-and-white in post-processing) silhouette of the solitary explorer pawn. Hope you like them.

One of these is probably my photo of the month candidate, now to choose which one...

This blog post has a soundtrack, too. Enjoy!
