July 12th, 2011

Just have to note on my sweet find of Fast Food Franchise and Mall of Horror at Atomic Games in Manitowoc this past weekend. I'm looking to move both games (but if I had to keep them, I'm fine too). Since both are OOP and hard to get, I'm hoping to trade up. Contact me if you are interested in trying to make a swap. Let me know you read about this in the blog, too, if you are interested.

I also picked up a copy of Factory Fun, as well. This is the Z-Man Games version so it plays up to five and has the expansion. Chris, Timm and I chose to play this one (or I chose, actually). We went through the rules and on we went.

What an interesting game. I do like puzzle games, so I did enjoy this. It was a bitch trying to get stuff down and earn a bit of profit. It pays to get the bonus as much as possible as that helped me for the win. I scored 64, Chris had 54 and Timm 48 (or something like that). It was a lot quicker than I expected, too. This will hit the table again, especially now that we got the hang of it.

Jeff text us and was going to be arriving a little later than expected, so I taught Timm and Chris my favorite of the Mystery Rummy series, Mystery Rummy: Al Capone and the Chicago Underworld. It's my favorite for the theme and the card play. We managed to get in a couple of hands before Jeff arrived and Chris won pretty handedly with 69, Timm had 35 and I had 21.

With Jeff's arrival, we broke out The Princes of Florence as we all realized we played it only once this past year. A travesty! The four of us know how to play it so we were able to jump right in, set it up and burn through the game (like in 75 minutes). Timm jumped out to an early lead by playing works earlier than the rest of us. Chris went with the builder/buildings strategy. Jeff and I went with I'm not sure what. Towards the end of the game, I was able to complete works and get the best work bonus the last two rounds and moved ahead of Chris for second. Jeff biffed on an auction and wasn't quite in jive with his cards. Chris petered out and Timm kept his lead. Timm did not have any bonus and I could have possibly caught him if I could have taken the second to last joker from him (prestige card to have most jokers in my hand). Anyways, Timm ended with 65, I had 57, Chris had 53 and Jeff had 39. Good to see this one back out.

We had some time so we broke out partner Crokinole. We also broke out the Skull. Oooo, the burn. First game it was Timm and I versus Chris and Jeff. Timm and I managed the win. It was tough to begin with and after about the half way mark, we were able to run away with it. The second game was Chris and I versus Timm and Jeff. This was another tight battle until the last two rounds where Timm and Jeff ran away with it as Jeff was starting to consistently nesting his biscuit.
