Thursdays we take our gaming to the streets. Or rather, to a local swimming pool where my youngest has to be. For my 11yo and I, I took along Star Fleet Scramble (two wins to me) and Martian Fluxx (one win to him.) We'll be doing this every Thursday for a while and I'm trying to come up with different small-footprint fast-playing two-player games each week..

continuing our run of new-to-us games we took a look at Witch's Brew when we got home. I found it somewhat similar to Greedy Kingdoms (which we learned earlier this week) in that each player has an identical set of "job cards" which they select from each turn. This familiarity helped my 7yo son pick it up very quickly and (despite a significant first-play rules blunder) it was a lot of fun.
