II Russian board game exhibition

IEBC (International Exhibition Business Center) “Sibir” is a business complex of an international level. Its general area is about 45 thousands square meters, including exhibition spaces, conference halls, a hotel, a restaurant, a warm guarded parking place, a comfortable relaxing zone and a sport complex.
History
In 2010 the exhibition operated with the participation of the board game producing firms of our country: Zvezda company, Hobby World, RightGames LLC, Lifestyle Ltd., publishing house Взрослые дети. About one hundred of board games were presented, from classic Potion-Making: Practice and The Settlers of Catan to newly released Power Grid, Evolution: The Origin of Species, Ticket to Ride, Pandemic, Operation Barbarossa 1941, etc. All Lego games published at present – the line of Danish firm LEGO group - were shown for the first time.
Over thousand people visited the exhibition during the two days. The best games, web sites and blogs were chosen through the public opinion poll and stock-taking and were generally recognized and awarded by MEEPLE-2010. Companies and people working most constructively in the sphere were awarded with special signs.
Plans:
Comparing with the previous year the whole area of the exhibition will double, a professional part will be added, and continuity of the exhibition will be prolonged with one more day.
The professional part includes discussions on subject of working up (localizing), producing and marketing of board games; presentations of new projects; holding seminar on organization of the club activity; wide tournament program (on Berserk: Tactical Card Game - War of Realms, The War, Warhammer, MTG, Go, Ticket to Ride: Europe, Carcassonne, The Settlers of Catan, etc.)
It is supposed to prepare some reviews on different topics associated with different aspects of game industry, dealing with mass media and internet; to introduce novelties of the last Essen festival (Germany) to the visitors of the exhibition.
All the main board game producers and localizers of Russia have confirmed their participation in the exhibition. Guests of MEEPLE-2011 are: Ivan Tulovskiy – the director of RightGames LLC, Mikhail Akulov – general director of Hobby World. A big team from Zvezda is arriving. And Lifestyle Ltd. (director - Alexander Peshkov) is conducting a wide entertaining action called “A board game - to each family” which is hoped to become the highlight of the program of this year exhibition.
By tradition all the worthy board games of our country published in 2011 will take part in competition with different nominations, their authors will get prizes and win the recognition. And experts and the general public will be offered an opportunity to participate in selection of the winners.
An online internet translation of important actions is planned. There will take place a sale of board games with special prices.
