• Titan For iPad Coming Soon - December 2 Valley Games announced that beta for Titan on the iPad is very nearly over and has described the submission of the Titan app to Apple as "imminent". That might be a good idea considering that iTunes Connect will be closing down from December 22 - 29. Since it takes about a week (under good conditions, without a holiday crush) to get an app approved, developers may be looking at a deadline of around December 14 to submit new apps. That's just a bit over a week from now!
• Hive to Get Re-Release - December 2 Tom Schulz of Lotusland Studios let us know that there will be an all new app version of Hive that does online turn based play with Gamekit. Lotusland is looking for people to be beta testers and early play testers.
• CNET 30 Best iPad Games Features Six Board Game Apps - December 2 Tech media website, CNET, posted an article on the weekend highlighting their choices for the top thirty best iPad games...period. So how did iOS board games fare. I'd say not badly. Six of their thirty iPad apps listed were board games.
Including 4th listed - Carcassonne 8th listed - Great Little War Game 13th listed - Monopoly 19th listed - Puerto Rico HD 22nd listed - Scrabble 26th listed - Ticket To Ride
So what do you think BGGers? Is 20% of their list is a good showing for iOS board games?

• Loot and Scoot Releasing December 13th - December 3 We learned this weekend that Victory Point Games has submitted the iOS Universal app of Chris Taylor's Loot and Scoot to the App Store. The release date is set for December 13. An Android version is also forthcoming.
We don't yet have many details on price or app features, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out. For now have a look at some screenshots:
• Codito updates Tigris & Euphrates - December 5 Codito is out to satisfy and that's exactly what they've aimed to do in their latest update for Reiner Knizia's Tigris & Euphrates. In just 20 days since the app's release, Codito is addressing a number of requests and suggestions voiced by their users. Here's the news:
Quote: What's new
Thanks to all of you who bought the game and have been giving us such great feedback! Don't forget to rate this new version again to help us keep our 5 star rating!
Here's how we made the game even better:
Added interactive log of last moves. Tap the list to highlight the relevant location on the board! NOTE: this feature will not be available for online games until all players in a game have updated to version 1.1 and logged a move.
Added crosshairs for placing tiles on iPhone.
Fixed undo for online games and resuming local games. Fixed tap to place leader. Fixed edge cases in rule implementation.
Various other fixes and improvements.
• Caylus To Release in January - December 5 I was saying just a couple of weeks back how nice it is when a developer makes an entire web site just for one app. Of course it in no way reflects on the quality of an app itself, but it does signal a hefty notion of support by the developer that registers with players. Well, on this note Big Daddy's Creations has today released a web site for their upcoming and much anticipated iOS implementation of William Attia's Caylus. The first big announcement is that the app will now be ready in January 2012.

Those who were on Board Game Geek back in 2005 might recall the excitement that was generated by Caylus. Like many exciting releases, the hype does sometime tend to eclipse that actual thrill of playing the game itself, but in 2005 players were being swept up in the excitement brought on by one of the mechanisms that would be popularized by Caylus. I'm talking, of course, about the "worker placement" and resolve mechanism. Now combine this great game with Big Daddy's Creations reputation for polished, high quality apps and you can see there is going to be some excitement.
The app itself will be iOS Universal and priced at $4.99. It will feature both local and async online multiplayer, as well as multiple AIs. And now for some delicious screenshots:
