Bobby's Games

I will be posting monthly recaps of my gaming which I have been doing in GeekLists. I'll also be commenting on games on occasion, though I can tell you that I will be behind the curve because I just don't get to play the new games as soon as some people do.

Game of the week revisited

We interrupt the very unpopular Game of the Week series to try and build up some good gaming karma. Since I started doing this, six of the games were not played the week I featured them to myself. (Yes, this is quite a narcissistic exercise.) So this week I am going to take five of them with me and nothing else to Saturday gaming, so if we play my games, we will play one of them. The games are:

Game of the week 14: Risk Express
Game of the week 13: Finca
Game of the week 10: Fresco
Game of the week 8: Hermagor
Game of the week 2: Louis XIV

Missing from the list is Game of the week 3, Cuba. If Mike was going to make it, I would make the effort to read the rules and prepare to try and explain the game to a bunch of new players, but I just don't have the time right now to make that commitment without a reason.

Hermagor also has a lot to explain, but the odds are good that at least one other person who will be there has played. I've also played it enough that I can explain it without much referencing of the rules.

How may of these will get played this weekend?

Which one is most likely to not get played?

Is there any way the Vikings could win a Super Bowl?

The answer to none of these questions and my normal self-promotion of the game I want to play each week will return next week.

If you find yourself in Mt. Prospect, IL this Saturday at the Games Plus game day with those 5 games I would play all except Risk Express, heck I'd play that one too (it's the only new to me game on the short list).

I predict 2 of them will see the table.

Alas, I'll be suffering through the predicted 70 degree weather in Tempe and can't make it up to the chilly lakes area.

Two seems like a good number. The first three are easy enough to pull out and just start playing. The next two will take a little more explanation, and only Hermagor can run long.

I suspect we might also see Resident Evil on the table if Ben and/or Nico make it this week.
