Doing a little research on what is available out there for 1x1 and 2x2 tiles...

The widest selection seems to be at:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalog.asp

Search on...
Item Type: Parts
Category: Tile, Decorated
Search: 1x1

Not much that I'm interested in. The single color tiles seem like they will be fine for my purposes. Although the single letters may be useful....

Search: 2x2

A little more interesting...some that might add a bit of flavor. Original thinking was that the stat die and gear die would both only have 1x1 color tiles, but we will need a quick visual way to tell them apart. Wonder if letting players customize one of the sides of their stat die with a "special" 2x2 would add both functional clarity and a bit of personalized flair?

A more radical option is to have some custom engraving done...

I could see doing a BattleBrik logo or something like that...

Lots of options to consider....

Just found your blog and read the old posts - neat idea!

I've been tinkering with adapting Robo Champ into a Chunky Fighters-style fighting game. Nice to see others are thinking along the same lines.

Good luck!

Thanks. Thanks also for the link to Chunky Fighters... have a future post lined up with links to similar games.
