After two years of unconditional focus on a serious game, I decided to break the ice on a fun game. Not that before fun was completely out of the question, I just wanted a game dedicated to fun and laughter. Nevertheless, I like strategic games too much to make a game just about laughing and leaving the thinking completely out of it.

The experiment started a while before Spiel '11 Essen. Its first code name was <<The city we built>>. Our small gaming group spent first a few hours a day testing the first prototype. Later on, we realized we are enjoying it a lot. Here's why...

Playing with Twix when we lost the resources

It turns out this city was built by a few people Essen and they liked it a lot, so I though to give it a bit more attention.

So, how does Wild Fun West work? You auction for professions, professions bring you income, income lets you bid for buildings. Players co-operate (or back stab) to add new building to their town. When the buildings in town match the ones on your objective card, you won.

It's simple and intuitive, not very balanced. It's more of a social and entertaining game, but competitive enough so the smarter ones can also enjoy.

Does this sound interesting?
