TAKING-TURNS: Designing a game from scratch!

I am not going to lie to you... Well, I probably will many times, but that is besides the point. The point being that I am not going to lie to you right here and right now. There is no grand plan for this blog. In fact that is part of the point... I want to track the design of a game from the very first baby steps, to the polished version. Every single step of the way, each new idea that pops into my head, will result in an update on this blog. Including all the silly ideas that will be killed off within seconds of being conceived! Subscribe now, and save yourself the hassle of having to do so later...

Hi folks!

As I've tried to explain in the blog's basic description, this blog attempts to track the design of a new game all the way from infant into maturity. I have deliberately avoided playtesting or writing anything about my newest idea. These are the very first words being recorded about it at all!

The game that the blog will track is as follows:
- American Football
- Players on the field (not "just" coaches calling plays)
- No random results (almost...)
- Rulebook fits on less than four A4 pages
- It follows the basic NFL rules
- I want the game to give its players a distinct feeling that they are playing American Football, though there will undoubtedly be lots of abstractions

I might very well get in the very first playtest tonight, if I manage to kitbash enough and make the rest up along the way!

Catch you later!
