Description Edit | History

micropul is a strategic & tactical tile-laying game in which players are scientists trying to extract precious micropul matter from an energy core.

The game can be played as a solitaire puzzle or competitively.

Each player has a hand of tiles they must play optimally to keep a flow of new tiles coming in and if possible keep aside some tiles in a supply stack that will be worth more points at the end of the game. Drawing new tiles is done by activating catalysts, this part is very tactical.

During the game, groups of micropul of the same color will get formed. These groups can be claimed and will be worth a lot of points if they are closed at the end of the game. This is the strategic part.

Winning is done by balancing the tactical and strategic part.

0 Micropul Box
Vector copy (.SVG) of my micropul box. My tiles are 3cm square and mounted on cereal box carboard, this box fits them with plenty of room to spare. This box should fit up to about 3.5 cm square. You might be able to fit 1/8" thick tiles in this box, but it'd probably be a squeeze. Editing the svg in Inkscape (free vector art software) should be simple enough if you wish to resize the box to accommodate other size tiles. Assembly of the box should be reasonably straightforward.

4 Back for Micropul Tiles
A backing file for micropul tiles. Consists of word "micropul" repeating at angle. Looks nice for something a little less bland, can be seen in http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/579910. A4 size.

3 Sapphire and Steel Micropul retheme
...All irregularities will be handled by the forces controlling each dimension... Sapphire and Steel have been assigned. A re theme of the wonderful game micropul using images from the title sequence of the science fiction show "Sapphire and Steel". Catalists are replaced with transuranic elements, and the plus sign indicated that you are getting help from Gold. If you want to imagine that you are either Joanna Lumley or David Macallum whilst playing then thats up to you... there is currently no provision to "take time back"!

9 Karl's Micropul Tiles
This set is based on the original design of the tiles, but I wanted to make the micropuls two different colors. I chose red and blue, because I liked the look of Matthew Thomas's "Superman" set. I then added borders around the micropuls to make it easier to identify group boundaries, as well as recognize open vs. closed groups. This file is rendered using vector graphics, so they will look smooth at any resolution.
