Akron is a generalization of standard connection games (such as Hex, Unlur,...) to three dimensions. The pieces consist of balls of two colors placed in a square grid. One player seeks to connect the top and bottom edge by pieces of his color, while the other player seeks to connect left and right. The twist that makes the game three dimensional is that under certain circumstances you can place a ball on the space supported by four balls already on the board.
