In Thunderstone: Heart of Doom, you had a chance to face Doom's very heart, the eighth Thunderstone, and defeat the ancient evil – but winning that battle had unexpected consequences. It banished Doom, but also freed him to visit other worlds, so you advanced to the next world with him.
Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin, which is fully compatible with all previous Thunderstone offerings, is the next stop in your adventure. In Thunderstone Advance you build your party of heroes to defeat the dreaded Thunderstone Bearers in their dungeons or wilderness. The player who defeats the most valuable monsters will win the day, but beware – those monsters have all-new tricks up their sleeves, and victory will not come easy.
Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin includes new rules, all new cards in new card frames, and a new village and dungeon board.
Another Randomizer but unlike many other randomizers, there is a balancing system so all used cards have at least one card to be sure that the everyhing can be countered.
No solo-play implemented (yet)...
All Thunderstone Advance Cards are included.
These cards can be used with Thunderstone to aid in play. Print five copies to have enough for each player. Each card is designed for a specific optional rule. Only use the cards that go with the rules you are playing with. I created these cards using godeckyourself.com.
An alternative randomizing aid for PCs/Laptops
- supports Thunderstone and Thunderstone Advance
- all expansions and promo cards (as of January 1, 2013) are included
- can also generate setups for multiplayer "Siege" scenario (Root of Corruption)
This attempts to pull together the rules for the Thunderstone Advance game in one organized and easy-to-use listing (based on my prior reference for Thunderstone +exps):
-The first two pages form a basic reference for setup & gameplay, including a layout illustration and card reference diagrams.
-The third page has a simplified glossary and summarize rules for Solo, some variant setup and Theme games.
-Finally page four includes a summary of tables & information based on AEG's 'Thunderstone Compatibility Guide, 21 March 2012'.
I print these using Adobe Reader X on letter-size 110lb cardstock. The layout has reserved top & bottom margins to permit them to be trimmed down (approx 1/2in per long edge) to fit within older TS:Wrath of the Elements-size boxes.
Let me know if I missed...
Thunderstone Advance rules summary that I use to teach the game and to refresh my memory.
This is version 2 of the file. It corrects a typo and adds a summary of Treasures that were added with the Caverns of Bane expansion.
Note that the setup section uses the Epic Variant.
