Description Edit | History

It's your lifelong dream – to join the Star Patrol and be part of the crew of an interstellar Starship. You've worked hard, graduated from the academy, and received your first assignment as part of a team of young recruits, confident in your training and ready to be put to the test. Nothing can possibly go wrong as you are prepared for anything...

You are the Space Cadets.

Space Cadets is a fun and frantic cooperative game for 3-6 players who take on the roles of Bridge Officers of a Starship. Each officer must accomplish his specific task in order for the team to successfully complete the mission. You might be the...

 • Helmsman, plotting the ship's course through asteroid fields and nebulae.
 • Engineer, using dominoes to get enough power to each system.
 • Weapons Officer, completing puzzles to load the torpedoes and flicking a disc down a track to launch them.
 • Shield Officer, using tiles to form poker hands to get the strongest shields.
 • Sensor Officer, using your sense of touch to scan and lock on enemy targets.
 • Captain, setting the plan and making sure that everyone stays focused and does their job.

If your crew can work together to accomplish the mission goals, you just might make it home in one piece.

While scheduled to be released as a board game in October 2012, Space Cadets will be introduced publicly as a live, interactive convention event on July 5, 2012 at DEXCON 15, a game convention in Morristown, New Jersey.

Space Cadets – Live! allows for up to thirty players to play together, with players divided into teams handling different functions of the Starship. Each team has a mini-game that it needs to complete within a short time limit, and the better that team performs, the better that ship function will execute. Different teams must also communicate and work with one another while completing their mini-game. Is the Helm team charging towards enemies? The Shield team may want to make the forward shields stronger.

Multimedia, props, and special effects will immerse you in the world of Space Cadets – Live!, based on the Space Cadets board game designed by Brian, Sydney and Geoff Engelstein and published by Stronghold Games.

8 Ayudas al jugador en español
Ayudas al jugador en español v01 - Space Cadets. Cada oficial contará con una hoja (media carta) con la info requerida para operar su estación. Players aid on spanish, based on previous works from: ski309 - Mike Sokalski, bagrar - Niels-Peter Lund, tgbruiser - Bruce Bridges, Beri - Barry Figgins
7 Space cadets - player aids in german
This is the final version, (unless someone finds an error...). It includes even more clarifications from the forum for most stations. Sorry folks... (Tschuldigung)
8 Space Cadets - Gamer Mission
This file is temporary, and contains a summary of the changes and solutions for Triple Sector ... Forgive me if the translation is too bad, but soon I will finish to repair the complete manual with a better translation ... Thanks to those who shared and helped me, and I will continue thanking your opinion about this new version ... I hope you enjoy it .
7 Alnitak Campaign, Mission 1
On a routine mission to repair a distant communications satellite, your ship uncovers a mysterious and horrifying danger. As the only ship in the sector, it will be up to you to discover what is behind the loss of an entire colony, prevent further loss of life, and prepare for war. This is the first mission in a new Space Cadets campaign. It contains optional rules for boarding parties. Yes, it will be difficult. 8 Space Cadets Box Insert
This is a design for a simple 9 box insert for Space Cadets (this design assumes that enemy and nemesis pieces are kept with the Captain’s materials). When finished, these boxes will be tight inside the original box. If you would rather be able to easily take the boxes out of the box, it would be best to scale the design down a couple of millimeters in each direction (being careful not to undersize so much that the Timer and Torpedo cards still fit their boxes). Materials Foamcore Parts 18 104x45 mm (A) 18 88x45 mm (B) 18 94x88 mm (C) 9 104x98 mm (D) PVA Glue Straight Pins This shouldn’t be a particularly difficult project (it’s mostly repetition), but if you haven’t worked with foamcore before, I recommend the excellent video tutorials at the Esoteric Order of Gamers...
20 Space Cadets Reference Cards (or Labels)
Yet another Space Cadets reference card set. These are a larger (7x5 inch) version suitable for printing to cardstock. Additional references are provided for Core Breach, Enemy Ships, and Nemesis.
3 Weapons Officer variant
v1.01 17 May 2013 This is a variant to partially replace the Weapon Officer's sub-game, completely eliminating the dexterity component and introducing a dice placement mechanic within the timed segment. It requires the use of sixteen 6-sided dice (8 x two colours), two playing boards (printable from the download file), and another weapons disc (or two tracking objects of some kind). Rules and printable player boards are in the ZIP file in both DOCX and PDF format. Discussion thread is [geekurl=/article/12350862#12350862]here[/geekurl], and comments and feedback are most welcome.
5 Space Cadets Promotions
These are rules for promotions up the ranks and includes ID badges and rank insignia that you can print, award and wear as Space Cadets officers. Updated: Removed borders mistakenly put on ID badges. Now they look better when cut out. Also, the cutouts for the insignia are larger and fit the badges better. Discussions of the rules are in the Space Cadets forum. http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/976679/space-cadets-promotions
