Blood Bowl - Second Edition (1988)

Blood Bowl is a game of Fantasy Football. The basic game features a match between a human team and an orc team. Ostensibly the teams are playing football. In fact each team takes turns moving, blocking and advancing the football down the field. The game comes with plastic miniatures.

The Rulebook

The rules are divided into Basic and Veteran Rules. Veteran Rules are all optional and expand on the game play of the Basic Rules. Veteran Rules cover the following areas:

• Substitutes
• Specialist players (Blitzers, Blockers, Catchers and Throwers in addition to the non-specialist Linesmen)
• Heroic Tackles
• Revised tackling rules
• Revised blocking rules
• Revised throwing rules

Although Team Cards are only provided for Orc and Human teams (who have the same attributes - for the purposes of playing Blood Bowl- anyway), the rules contain attributes for the following races:

Expansions

• Blood Bowl - Second Edition: Elves, Dwarfs and Dungeonbowl takes the game underground and includes figures for two teams: one Dwarf and one Elf.
• Blood Bowl Star Players expands the game with the creation of new star players, a simple campaign system and new races.
• Blood Bowl Companion introduces a lot of new rules as well as the official NAF game variant.
