Middle-Earth Quest takes place approximately ten years after Bilbo Baggins leaves the Shire, and several years before Frodo leaves Bag End on his journey leading to the destruction of the One Ring. Thus, Middle Earth Quest will take place in a time of growing darkness. Players will take control of characters such as a Gondorian Captain, a Rider from the Westfold, or numerous other character types. Not only will characters be able to experience new adventure in Middle Earth, but we will carefully seek to tie in the experience with the massive amounts of lore and story that takes place around the edges of the central THE LORD OF THE RINGS storyline.
Middle-Earth Quest is a game of adventure and conflict set in the time leading up to the creation of the Fellowship. One player will adopt the mantle of Sauron and do his best to spread his evil influence across the lands. Up to three players become heroes and will do their best to foil Sauron's foul plots, and rally the peoples of Middle-earth to their side.
Indianapolis IN (August 17, 2007) – Fantasy Flight Games (“FFG”) announced at a press conference on Friday, August 17, that they will be releasing Middle-earth Quest, a new adventure game based in the world created by J.R.R. Tolkien in his classic literary works The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.
"FFG has worked hard to be synonymous with adventure board games, and publishing an adventure board game based on Professor Tolkien’s classic books marks a high-point in our efforts," said Christian T. Rather than taking the role of a major character, whose destiny will be tied up in ring saga, players will take control of characters such as, for example, a rare adventurous Hobbit, a Gondorian Captain, a Rider from the Westfold, or numerous other character types. Not only will characters be able to experience new adventure in Middle Earth, but we will carefully seek to tie in the experience with the massive amounts of lore and story that takes place around the edges of the central THE LORD OF THE RINGS storyline."
FFG has acquired the license from Sophisticated Games, the U.K licensing partner of Berkeley U.S based Tolkien Enterprises. Middle-earth Quest joins a long line of previous collaborations between FFG and Sophisticated Games, namely the Lord of the Rings the Board Game (and its three expansions), The Hobbit, Lords of the Rings Trivia, Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation (standard and deluxe versions), Ingenious and Ingenious: Travel Edition.
FFG debuted Middle Earth Quest at GenCon Indianapolis 2009.

This is a smaller version of the excellent turn summaries submitted by jwallerrocks (sauron) and bucklen_uk (hero). I took out all the art and made them very simple and small, to save table space for this very large game. No bells or whistles - just what you need to know when playing. Great for if you are playing solo too. Please let me know if there are any mistakes or oversights. Note - the text is very small, so may not work for everyone. Hemos jugado unas 20 partidas del juego y llevamos unas cuantas que hemos modificado con estas reglas opcionales para hacerlo menos predecible, más dinámico y obligar a los héroes a que sean más agresivos. Creo que con ellas el juego gana en emoción.
Las hemos testados 4 veces y funcionan muy bien.

In this pdf I've summarized the difference between the characters, mainly based on their hero cards, but also their attributes. Each hero has two graphs characterizing him or her. Should be useful as an aid for figuring out who's good at what.
There is already a nice Hero Reference Sheet for their turns. I created a simple Word document summarizing Sauron's turn with a few key commonly missed rules included.
