In Cosmic Encounter, each player is the leader of an alien race. The object of the game is to establish colonies in other players' planetary systems. Players take turns trying to establish colonies. The winner(s) are the first player(s) to have five colonies on any planets outside his or her home system. A player does not need to have colonies in all of the systems, just colonies on five planets outside his or her home system. These colonies may all be in one system or scattered over multiple systems. The players must use force, cunning, and diplomacy to ensure their victory.
Included in this ZIP are a couple home-brewed variants I came up with for playing with Moons and/or Lucre in Cosmic Encounter. They have been somewhat playtested, but they are not perfect. Our group has really enjoyed them, but feel free to post your thoughts.
I finally got so fed up with bumping the Warp and sending our score markers all over. To replace this circular board, I created a square board with the same functionality, but without the headaches! Please enjoy!

Here are some approximations of the layout of the Flare cards (for homebrews and playtesting). You can add your own text to these and print, or write on them with pen or pencil in true homebrew fashion!
This 1 page file includes 6 small player references which contains the contents of both the Cosmic Deck from the base game and Reward Deck from the Cosmic Incursion expansion. The statistics for rate of drawing a card type are based on the 5 player game with 10 flares in the Cosmic Deck. The statistics for the Cosmic Deck are wrong with more than 5 players as more than 10 flares would be included in the Cosmic Deck, but will give you a rough estimate. The statistics for the Reward Deck won't change based on number of players.
A corrected printable excel document. Correction is in the start turn/regroup phase. The printed pages fit in a 3.5"x5.5" laminator pouch, back to back. I left the file as an excel document so if you have any house rules/changes, they can be made.
