Description Edit | History

Montage is a partnership word game in which each player, in turn, thinks of a word, "spells" it on the crossword-like grid using color-coded tiles – each color corresponding to one vowel and five or six consonants, e.g. yellow is A/B/C/D/Z and green is U/T/V/W/Y/X – then gives a clue, in the hopes that his partner can guess the word before either of the opponents do.

In 1992, Joli Quentin Kansil revived the idea behind Montage in ¡Knock-on-Word!, a similar partnership word-guessing game.

3 Montage quik reference (MS Word 2003 format)
NOTE! This reference refers extensively to my own homemade board and our own variant play style (for example, we use the easy-going timer, as opposed to the "Iron Man Timer" rules of the original game). If you download this, you may/will want to tweak it to fit your own homemade board (really, you have an original copy?!), and to fit any rules variations by which you play.

9 Montage Tiles
Each page has enough to make 12 of each color tile. I estimate you need appx. 40 of each tile for a game. Cut these out and apply them to standard Scrabble tiles - black on one side and white on the other. For example, you'd have a blue tile with a white dot in the center. On the reverse side of that tile would be blue with a black dot in the center.
