Born in KETTERING, but now living in LONDON.
Originally trained as Teacher but changed horses and, after studying at the Birmingham Theatre School, worked in the Theatre - in many capacities - including, Lighting Design and Directing. Now semi-retired!
Played games as a kid but really became involved in the late 60’s after he got a copy of Dr. Bell’s book “Board and Table Games from many Civilizations”, from the local Library. As he was ‘resting’ he made playable copies of many of them.
Shortly afterwards he moved to LONDON roughly coinciding with the start of “GAMES AND PUZZLES”. After a couple of contributions he was in discussion with the Editor about a series of articles when G&P folded.
A regular contributor to “OWL & WEASEL” – (Games Workshops’ Zine); “GAMES, GAMES, GAMES” – (SFC’s Mag); and now with “COUNTER” almost from the beginning.
Attended a number of Games Clubs; was a founder member of SIGMA, until he resigned, and was the first Editor of their monthly Games Zine – possibly the first zine to be type-set. In 1978 he founded D.A.G.G. - Deptford Adult Games Group, (now G.A.G.G. – the Gate.A.G.G.), which is still meeting regularly.
Was a regular visitor to a number of Con’s. He was involved in the first GAMES DAY and many after, and has attended all UKEXPO’S - reporting on most of them for COUNTER.
Both on the GEEK and in COUNTER he has become known for producing 6 Player versions of 5 Player games – most notably PUERTO RICO where he introduced the character of the Politician!!! He also so added the Third (option) Die to McMULTI/CRUDE!
