Bryan Talbot (born 1952 in Wigan, England) is a British comic book artist and writer known the "godfather" of modern British underground comix. He was the creator of The Adventures of Luther Arkwright and its sequel Heart of Empire. In 1969, his first work appeared as illustrations in Mallorn, the British Tolkien Society magazine. He has illustrated cards for the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game.
