Roy Grinnell (born 1933 in Santa Barbara, California) is a nationally-renowned aviation artist. After graduated from Santa Barbara High School, he served four years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Guam.
He graduated with honors from the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles. In 1999, Grinnell won the Robert Grant Smith Award for excellence in naval aviation art.
In 1978, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He was the artist for the board game Aces High which depicts Vaughn's first victory on 17 June 1918 over Beaucourt, France, and was reproduced by permission of the American Fighter Aces Association and the game The American Aces which depicts the USAS's first ace Douglas Campbell, scoring his important fifth victory.
