Matt Saunders is the Program Director at Youthfront Camp West. Prior to becoming a camp director, Matt was a Student Ministries Director at churches in Olathe (Kansas), Calgary (Alberta), and Caldwell (Idaho). Matt's inspiration for designing games came from his wife's cousin, Marc, who as a history teacher, used game designing activities to help teach units in the classroom. After playing one of Marc's original games, Matt decided to try designing a game of his own. This eventually became Mow 'Em Down: Walker Mowers Edition, which Matt self published in 2008. In 2010, Matt began designing Mow Money, a card game based on the original board game. He entered it into the 2011 Protospiel Card Game Design Contest. The game was a top-4 finalist in the contest. In the years following the contest, Matt continued to work on the game and show it to publishers. Following BGG.con 2013, Mow Money was picked up by Mayday Games and is set to release in late 2014.
Matt and his wife have two kids. They currently live in Gardner, Kansas and enjoy playing games together as a family. When it's not camp season, Matt can be found playing games with the Strang Line Spielers, Central Nazarene Game Night, and occasionally with the Gardner FBC Gamers.
