Joseph H. Rubinstein (born October 5, 1936) is a professor of education from New York City. He has a PhD in biology from New York University. He also served in the U.S. Army for three years.
In 1972, he joined the Open Court Publishing Company and served as a director of their math and science curriculum for seven years where he directed a nationwide field-testing program for Real Math, an elementary and middle school math curriculum. He also created the game "Real Math - A Sampler of Games" along with fellow education professor Carl Bereiter and mathematicians Peter Hilton and Stephen Willoughby.
In 1984, he joined the faculty of Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina.
