David Snell (born 1961 in Anchorage, Alaska) is an American game designer. His involvement in the world of games dates back to 1979, when he won the state Junior Chess championships. He then moved to Oregon to attend Oregon State University and in 1985 became involved in the design and programming of computer games at Royal Software of Eugene. For Royal Software, he developed "Trivia Quest" for the Atari-800 computer, and designed "Great Battles of the 19th century" for the Atari-ST.
After a brief collaboration with SSI, David decided to design games independently, and developed the computer-moderated game Adventurer Kings. Since then, the development of such hybrid games has become his primary occupation.
