Lawrence Holiday Harris, Jr. (born May 1948) is a game designer who is the owner of Harris Game Design. He is most famous for creating the board game Axis & Allies and its sequels. He has been principal or senior game designer for companies such as Hasbro, Parker Brothers, Mattel, and Milton Bradley.
He is the son of Lawrence Holiday Harris, Sr. (October 9, 1920 - July 2, 2010), an American infantryman who served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II, participating in assaults in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, and the Philippines. His father was the son of Southern Baptist missionaries in China and later served as a diplomat and college professor.
Lawrence H. Harris, Jr., the son, studied in France at the Sorbonne and the University of Vincennes. He later served in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War.
Larry Harris has been living in New England and Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
