Albert A. Nofi

Albert A. Nofi (born January 6, 1944) is a game designer, author, and an American military historian from Brooklyn, New York, who is one of the founders of wargaming. He obtained his PhD from the City University of New York in 1991. During his wargame design career, he primarily worked with Jim Dunnigan at SPI (Simulations Publications, Inc.) as the company's research director and associate editor for Strategy and Tactics Magazine between 1969 and 1982. In 1999, he became a research analyst with the Center for Naval Analyses where worked with game designer Peter Perla. He has been a regular contributor to the magazines North & South and Strategy Page.
